My baby girl was sick over the weekend and yesterday. Her fever was going up and down throughout the day (based on when I treated her with ibuprofen). I don't mind taking her temperature rectally occasionally to get an "official" reading. However, there were times where I just wanted to get a general sense of her temperature without having to break out the rectal thermometer. Also, I want something I can use for my 2.5 yo because I don't want to have to take her temp rectally unless I absolutely have to. It would be nice to get a forehead or ear reading as a starting point even if it's off a tiny bit.
Does anyone have an ear or forehead thermometer that they can recommend and which got good ratings? I went on Amazon and couldn't find anything with great ratings. I also went on Consumer Reports and there wasn't much there either. I don't mind paying a bit more for a good one.
Re: Need recs for ear or forehead thermometer for baby/toddler age
DSs pediatrition uses the Exergen temporal scan themometer at every visit. I think you can find these at the drug stores these days.
This. My only complaint is H won't leave it alone when I get near her head so I usually have to do a couple readings.
Awesome and thank you! I guess I did see that one on Amazon when I was looking but I wasn't sure it was good with a 4 star rating. But it sounds like that's the main one people get which is why I didn't see many options when I was searching. I'll be ordering that one now.
Another vote for it!
