That's a cute dog. Next time you guys are going on vacation, just pop him on a plane to Dulles and let us know what time to pick him up.
Car rides make him nervous. I can't imagine making him ride in a plane. He would probably be a disaster by the time you needed to pick him up. Thankfully, he's a good boy and we've got a few friends in the area to take him when we go out of town so he can avoid the car as much as possible.
Confession: I will be giving him two benadryl on Wednesday evening before the drive to my mom's house for Thanksgiving. It makes the drive much better for everyone involved. ha.
Ok, the new pic is super cute! I actually like the lighting - it looks warm - but we should definitely compare with a daylight pic. I guess it also depends on lighting of other pics involved?
Re: Will you pick my Christmas Card Photo? UPDATED

I picked #2 bc I like his face in that one. I totally agree though that he needs something festive! I was thinking a hat but I know those can be hard.

I bought two long strings of white mini lights with white wiring (important, as a lot of places sell them with green wiring).
I bought some painters tape and taped them to a wall in my dining room where I had a lot of natural light and depth (to move back).
My settings were:
(50mm lens), f/1.8, 1/250 sec, ISO 400
I got the "inspiration" from this blog that I saw on the photography board: https://punkfictionphoto.blogspot.com/2011/11/twinkle-and-snow.html

oh, and the key (for me) was to keep the dog pretty far away from the wall (around 5 feet) so the focus lands on him... not the wall and strings.

thanks for the tips!
