When you receive a gift at your baby shower from someone who couldn't attend the shower, is it considered rude to send them a thank you card (within less than a week of the shower) and not phone them as well? MY grandmother in law sent a gift and has been stewing that all she got was a thank you card and not a phone call as well. She is actually really, really mad at me and saying I am ungrateful and such. I didn't think that what I did was so wrong. Opinions?
Thanks.?
Re: Thank you etiquette
Awww..poor grandma...I agree she is probably lonely and wants to talk to you.
Sending a card/note is perfectly within the realms of etiquette.
