Trouble TTC

one more laparoscopy question...

How long did it take?  It's not like I have a date with anyone (besides my couch Wink) just wondering.  I'm also having a D&C, which I've never had before.  Of course it really doesn't matter because I will find out tomorrow morning when before surgery I was just wondering!

Re: one more laparoscopy question...

  • I had a lap/D&C/hysteroscopy done. I went in at 6:30 am, and was home by 2:00.

  • The actual surgery took maybe a half an hour, but I had to be there an hour and a half before the surgery started.  I got there at 7:30, home by noon, but I had an hour drive back home.

  • Mine took right at an hour or so. I had a lap, hysteroscopy, they removed a fibroid and endo, and I had a chromotubation. I got there about 830am, surgery at 10, and home about 2.

  • Thank you ladies.  Your time frames sound similar to what I was expecting in my mind, but just wasn't sure.  I tend to get over-anxious about things and the more I know to expect, the better I feel!

  • I think mine took about 2 hours but I had an appendectomy as well.  Good luck!

  • Varies on what's going on inside... My actual surgery was about 3 hours; where as a friend of mine just had one and was only under for 30 min.  I went to hospital about 7 and was home around 2. GL
  • My lap is scheduled for tomorrow also. The only other surgery I've had is my tonsils removed so I'm a little nervous. Thanks for asking this question, I was wondering also. Is it wrong that I'm really excited about the week thereafter that I've taken off work?

    Good luck tomorrow !

  • I'm so sorry for your loss.  :(

Mine took about 2 hours, but that's because I had an HSG, an ovarian tumor, stage 3 endo, and adhesions to take care of.  Otherwise it would have been about a half an hour.

Hope your recovery is quick, both physically and emotionally.  (((hugs)))

It really wasn't near as bad as I thought it would be, and I had 3 incisions instead of two!

  • Thank you everyone!  Of course I will not now until it happens, but just the tiniest bit of info helps ease my mind.  In addition to the basic lap and D&C, during the lap part the're going to try and remove the partial blockage from my right tube... so hopefully it will go well!

  • I just got a lap on Thursday!  My left tube was completely blocked and had to be removed.  I got to the hospital at 6:30 and left around 1:30.  The actual surgery only lasted about an hour and 15 minutes.  I was a bit sore after, but I've been pleasantly surprised with how quickly I've recovered.  Good luck!
