The pedi sent us to get bloodwork after his 1yr appointment. Apparently it's common practice to get bloodwork done at 12 months to test for lead and iron levels in our county (though we don't live in a house/area with old homes or sewers/pipes).
I was very nervous about taking B all by myself. I had heard stories about kids getting stuck with no luck of getting the blood work done because of small veins.
Thankfully the nurses were able to find one in his right arm and only searched for about 3 seconds after the needle went in. He cried, of course, but once the blood started to flow, he just sniffled! What a good boy! I am so proud of him! He even gave the nurse a smile or two before we left!
