doula recs

I know this is asked a lot, but can you recommend your doula? I know Emily Bessey is very popular, but due to her own pregnancy, she's only available til March. If you know they have experience with hypnobirthing, even better! 

(If you don't mind including price or a price estimate, that would be super helpful, too.)

    I used Amanda Wyszkowski, and she was absolutely awesome.  Here's her website: https://www.austindoula.com/.

    I believe her fee was $700.

    I used Ame S from Get Babied for both births. She was awesome.

    Get Babied is very up-front about pricing on their website. You can pick and choose what services you want, so the pricing will depend on whether you want an apprentice doula, a certified doula, and  if you want classes and/or extra services. You can either take whoever is on call or choose one of the doulas as your preferred doula and pay the preferred doula fee (which is in addition to the regular fee--but DH and I thought it was worth paying so that we would know for sure who would be at our birth).

    I think we paid around $400 each time, but prices have increased a bit since I contracted with GB.

    They hold Meet the Doulas Night a couple of times each month, which is a good way to hear about their services and talk to the doulas that are a part of their group. 

    For full disclosure, I had an epidural both times, and Ame was supportive of whatever route I chose (medicated or non-medicated). Although for DD#2, I technically had the epidural, but it didn't have time to work.

    I love Shelly! She has a flexible pricelist based on what you want to pay. I think it went from $700 to $950.

    My friend used Shelly for both deliveries and loved her so she recommended that I use her.  I used Get Babied because of the price and loved by experience.  Megan was my doula and she was wonderful!

    I used Shelley as well. I cannot recommend her highly enough. I don't think we would've had the experience we did without her. She has a website: https://shelleyscotka.com/

    That being said, I've yet to hear anyone having a bad experience with any doulas in Austin. I would definitely interview a few to see who is the right fit. Good luck!

    We are going to use Ame from Get Babied. We've been really happy with her so far. She has a very strong medical background and I feel comfortable that she will help avoid unneeded medical intervention at the hospital.
