Are you still wearing your wedding rings?

I have managed to keep them on comfortably even though Ive gained 30 lbs so far! Ouch! The guideline says to gain around 1 lb per week and lately its been 1.5 a week for me but I must be doing something right cause I havent had to sacrifice the rings yet Smile

Re: Are you still wearing your wedding rings?

  • Yup still wearing mine. So far I haven't swelled in the hands. I've noticed a little in my ankles though.

  • i'm with you! I haven't had to take them off yet!! I was at 14 lb gain at my last appt on Nov 9th.  So i'm thinking at my next appt i'll be close to 18-20lbs. I'm not too worried about it, nothing is fitting differently and i have no swelling of anything yet! So i'd say it's been all baby lately!! which is fine with me!!! haha

  • I still have mine on - but when we got married, we knew it was bigger and needed resized. Needless to say, our stick gave the plus sign when we returned from the honeymoon - so we decided to leave it big for that reason :-) My engagement ring (which is 3/4 of a size smaller - not a lot - but enough) is tight though.

This is pretty much me. Sometimes my feet are a little swollen at the end of the day, nothing major, but nothing in my hands, yet, so the rings are on.

  • So far, but I do recall with dd that the swelling began around this point so we'll see.  My rings never fit right after I had her so when she was 2.5 I had them sized a half size larger so I expect they'll at least fit a bit longer this time.

  • I'm still wearing mine!  No swelling so far, so they still seem to fit.  My engagement ring is tighter than my wedding band, so if anything I think I'll have to take that one off.

  • I took mine off a couple weeks ago. My rings were small to begin with, and statred leaving marks. I actually bruised my knuckle taking them off, but I didn't want to have them cut off! Luckily I have a diamond band that still fits so I wear that on my left hand...

  • Yes! Thank goodness. And my E ring is spinning so annoyingly...So far so good.
  • How weird is this?- When we purchased the engagement and wedding rings, I told the jewelry consultant that I wanted the rings a 1/2 size bigger than what they recommended. (They recommended a 7, so we bought a 7 1/2). My MIL thought that was stupid... but my response was "I want to be able to wear my rings the entire 10 months I am pregnant." PS I wasn't pregnant yet! I was just thinking ahead.. and for the most part, even when I wasn't pregnant, I HATE when rings are too snug on me. The idea that they are "stuck" on my finger freaks me out! So the 7 1/2 has been perfect!

Oh and yes, I still have them on!

  • I've gained about 30 lbs so far, too, and my wedding rings slide off and on every morning just fine.

  • With my first pregnancy i didn't have to remove them until the last month and couldn't put them back on for another month or 2 after she arrived... I imagine it will be the same this time around. I also had (and have) no swelling anywhere..

  • Yes! I'm still managing to wear both wedding and engagement ring. My fingers swell when I walk in the morning, but are fine after I cool down. As PP said, they still spin annoyingling, so I'm hoping I can keep wearing them throughout the rest of the pregnancy.

My dr. did note I was getting some swelling in my legs though. Feet are still okay.

  • Jealous.  I took mine off a month ago.

  • Overall, I'm still wearing them.  Some days, I have to take them off when I get home because my fingers are swollen and they get uncomfortable but at least it's not every day.

Same with me, just a little swelling in the feet and ankles but that is only if I'm on my feet all day cleaning the house or if DH and I run errands on the weekends.  I took my toe ring off last week because I was afraid I would hit the point of no return and have to have it cut off LOL

  • In the summer, I had to take them off more frequently... not because of the swelling, but because of the nasty rash I got from them.  Now that it's cooler out, I still take them off at night, but they go on and off really easily.  Makes me very happy :)

  • my rings are actually bigger.  i may have to take them off cause I'm scared of them falling off.  wierd, no?

  • nope! mine didn't fit after 1st tri, but my weight gain has been normal... oh well - I'll get those back on once I get my body back :)
  • If anything, my fingers seem to have lost some girth, so I'm having trouble keeping my rings on. I feel like I'm losing weight everywhere, but I'm making up for it in my belly. On cold days I have to be really careful or they'll just fall off. I do have to take them off in the shower, because the soap makes them extra slippy.
  • Surprisingly yes.  With my first I abandoned them around 20 weeks.  I have gained about the same amount so far, but have far less water weight and swelling this time around (thank you colder weather).

  • Sadly not able too.. wearing a silly ring that is too big..instead

  • No Crying I've only gained about 12lbs so it's not even a weight issue. I was the same way last time but I was able to wear them longer this time, up until about 2 weeks ago. I smashed them on my fingers on Sunday and it hurt horribly to get them off!

  • I'm still wearing mine, but they are definitely more snug than normal.  Not tight though.

  • I'm still wearing mine yet.  Although this morning, I was telling DH that I am going to take SD with me to pick out a nice big gaudy ring to wear once I can't and then put my actual ring on my necklace.

  • i took them off early so that i wouldn't have to struggle getting them off if i forgot about them. i took them off about 6 weeks ago, at about 15lbs gained. i bought some fakes at claires in a size up...they actually look strikingly similar to my "real" set!

  • I'm still wearing mine.

  • I haven't gained much weight up until this point (11 pounds last appt) but my fingers swell like a mofo even when I'm not pregnant... My e-ring (which has always been slightly snug and needs to be resized after LO is born) has been off for months and I just took my wedding band off this week when the temps climbed back into the high 80s here.

  • Still have mine on. Last pregnancy, I had to take them off around 32 weeks. But, they were really tight even months and months after I delivered (I guess they were always kind of tight, it just bothered me and I noticed it more after putting them back on), so I got them re-sized up a 1/2 size. Hopefully they fit the whole time this go around. I haven't noticed them feeling snug at all.
  • Mine is a tad snugger, but still proudly flaunting my bling!

  • I'm still wearing mine, haven't gained a lot of weight, but check my rings at least twice a day! It's only a matter of time before the swelling begins....

  • Nope. Had to take them off at 20 weeks. I'm water weight galore so I'm wearing a "pregnancy ring"?a sterling silver band with a single baby pink sapphire in it to signify the coming of my baby girl!
  • I never took them off last time and I had a summer baby so I doubt I'll have to take them off this time.
