How would a 10-month old do in a (Muppet) movie?

If we were to take C with us to see the Muppets this weekend, would that be a no-no?  If not, is it smarter to take them pre-nap when they are going to get sleepy and pass out, or post-nap when they are alert?  Am I right in thinking that an early screening (before 3pm) would be most kid-friendly?

  • We took J to one movie around that age - it wasn't a kid movie, we just reeeally wanted to see it.

One suggestion - the Montgomery Royal theater is usually pretty empty.  So, you wouldn't have to worry too much about disturbing other people if he gets fussy.

  • One of my friends is planning to take her 18-month old to see the Muppets, and she invited us to go, too. I'm still thinking about it and whether it would be a total disaster... lol.  I think you need a Plan B in place, and one or both parents need to be willing to leave the theater with C if he gets too loud. Definitely go to matinee.

  • Not my thing at all. If I'm going to pay $10+ for a movie, I want to enjoy it. I couldn't see enjoying it with a 10-month-year old in tow. But maybe your 10-month-year old is more cooperative than mine was.

Definitely be prepared for having to leave. To me, it's just not worth the trouble or $.

Have fun! Good luck if you decide to go!

  • I wouldn't. I know my kids at 10mo old would not sit still for a movie,  heck, not even for a commercial! They were way too mobile (both walked before 11mo old) and totally not interested in a movie. If anything, it would have over-stimulated them.
