Probiotics?
Anyone take probiotics while pregnant? Do you have a brand you would recommend?
I have had IBS for awhile and can usually keep it controlled, but pregnancy is messing with it. Now mix in the side effects of the zofran, and my whole GI system is a mess. I can't really do dairy, so yogurt with live cultures is not an option for me.

Fermented foods can give you a much better and healthy bacteria population than anything you can buy over the counter. When I'm running low on homemade ferments I buy bubbies. It's so good and you just need to take a few raw bites of it a day. Don't cook it or it kills the healthy bacteria. And don't over do it or you'll get dieoff from the bad bacteria. We all just take one bite before eating and it works wonders. I get my bubbies from Natural Grocers but I'm sure you can order it online too. They are filled with healthy probiotics. Homemade water kefir is also a really great option. And WAY cheaper as it constantly repopulates and grows. I ounce of grains will last you forever as long as you take care of them. You only need an ounce or two a day to start out and work your way up. I recommend culturesforhealth.com if you go that route or have any desire to make your own ferments. Their site is amazing and has a lot of video tutorials.
Your baby will inherit your flora as it travels through the birth canal. This is why a lot of women use yogurt internally in the days before giving birth along with probiotics throughout pregnancy. Might be something to consider as it can have an effect on the immune system and many people believe, neurological issues. It's one of those, it can't hurt and it can only help to be sure your flora is in check before giving birth, things.
