sleepy time help...

So lately H has been waking around 4-5 am. It started (we think) b/c of my horrible coughing/vomiting fits, but I've been getting much better. (of course not last night)

He just gets up, goes to find the ipad and starts watching something. He'll fix himself a glass (or soda stream bottle of water) in the complete dark.  If he didn't have the sound up so high, I'd never know he was up.

 He goes back mostly ok, but usually with a bit of struggle, "no, no bed, up mama" I'll ask him, "H, is it day or night out?" and he says, "dark mama" "bunny sleep". So I say, what do we do when the bunny sleeps? and he replies, "Sleep mama". At that point he'll usually climb in to his bed and at least lay there. I usually lay with him (until the coughing starts again) until he's either asleep again or mostly asleep.

 How do I get him to sleep all night again? Do you think it'll take until I'm no longer coughing? If that's the case, what happens when Baby J gets here in March, no more sleeping H again? I'm going to go crazy.

    We go through phases when I'll let Layna watch tv first thing in the morning.  Then she'll start waking up earlier and earlier because she wants to watch.  When I limit the tv time, she starts sleeping in later again.

    Hide the iPad.  Once he knows he can't have it in the morning, maybe he won't bother getting out of bed.

    That's a good idea. It's not always accessible and he just heads down to the playroom then :

     I asked him this morning if I should put the baby gate back up and he said, "Heinry baby, want gate" So I guess we could do that, but sheesh It hasn't been up in so long, I feel bad doing that. I was just talking out of my butt and thought he'd be all, "no mama, me sleep" not yeah put it up.

    Ha!  Layna does that to us all the time.  "Layna, you must xyz or you'll have to go to bed!"  and she's all, "Okay, I'll go to bed"
