Daycare moms- Holiday gifts

Megcheer and I were discussing this the other day about what to get our children's daycare teachers. I'm really struggling to come up with ideas. I was thinking baked goods and maybe a gift card. The only problem with gift cards, I'm not really sure what they like. Also how much should I spend? DD has two main teachers and then I also like to get something for the director and owner as well. THOUGHTS?

    It's so tough to know, but I do think anything you do will be appreciated. I also know from my teaching days that while things like mugs and bath products are appreciated, you just get more than you could ever use. I usually stick with gift cards when doing teacher gifts. I usually do Target because who doesn't shop there? I also have done $5 to Starbucks and $10 to Barnes and Noble because I got it once and loved it. I figure if they are working with kids there is a good chance they will be able to find something at B&N.

    I do Target or Visa GC for the teachers. Normally 25 for the main teacher and 5-10 for assistants/floaters, etc. I don't do anything for the director/owner or other administrators

    We do Target for our dcp.  We spend $50 but there is one person to buy for - well, we do get her daughter a gift but we only spend about $10-15 on the daughter.

    Our director and owner are very involved with the kids' care, so I feel like i should get them something too. Whoever said Target is always good - you are so right. I might do that for everyone, plus bake or another little something. I'm too indecisive to pick just one thing!

    DD is at an in-home, but I was planning on getting a dunkin donuts GC and maybe doing a baked good.

    DD's center asks that parents gift the classrooms rather than the teachers. The teachers create a wish list of items for the classroom, and those items are then put on ornaments and hung on a tree in each room. Parents snag an ornament, purchase the item listed, wrap it, and put it back under the tree with the ornament.

    The kids get to open the "presents" and the entire class benefits from the generosity. 

    I also take in a baked good or two for the entire center - not just DD's teachers. 

    They also do a Scholastic book sale in early December and ask that parents purchase a book for their child. The center staff wraps the gifts for each kid, and when Santa comes to the center, he gives the kids the books purchased by their parents (only, of course, the kids don't know their parents purchased). We can also purchase books for the classrooms at the same time.

    I really like those ideas!

    I like those ideas, too. Especially about gifting the center, not the teachers.
