So I am going to be in one of my best friend's bridal parties in June. I will have just begun my 8th month of pregnancy, less than a month until I am due, second child (obviously). Anyway, being pregnant for it I am totally fine with as is the bride, she is actually excited, thinks it will look cute in pictures, whatever. My son is also the ring bearer so it should be a fun experience. Anyway, my trouble is with the dress that is picked out. I feel like her mom is convinced as long as we order it big enough can be altered but being that I have been that pregnant before, I know that some styles just dont work with a huge belly. If it was an empire waist I could work with it but this is totally different. I am putting the link here. Thoughts? Honestly, do you think this can be altered to fit someone who is 8 months pregnant. If I carry anything like last time, which who knows, I was all belly, but I feel like all belly in this type of dress just wont work. I feel like where the waist falls on the dress you would need to order it so big that it would be impossible to make it fit anywhere else. Thanks for your opinions ladies. I am just trying to figure out what to do. There is a similiar dress that is empire waist and same exact satin, strapless, floor length that I think would be a better possibility and being that I will be so pregant I am going to look different even if it was the same dress. The bride is so laid back about these details, it is more her mother I need to convince. Okay, thanks!!! Any advice or tips would be helpful because if I am wrong about it I would love to know now and then I can be more hopeful about alterations if they are possible.

This is the one I think would work out better:

I'll love you forever,
I'll like you for always,
As long as I'm living my baby you'll be.

This is the one that I think we could work with and is the same material and sweetheart type top. Thoughts? Thanks ladies!

I need to go in knowing what I am talking about.
Yeah that's not going to work. I don't see how that could possibly fit right.... And even if you could get it to "fit" I think it would look awful!
The 2nd dress is way better, and would look great with a nice big bump :-)
This one would be easier to alter. It would still be A LOT of altering, but not as much as the first one (which would have to be re-designed)
I was a pregnant bridesmaid and the wedding was a week before my due date. Yeah... a WEEK! But she's my best friend, so I couldn't say no. I got a dress 2 sizes bigger than my regular size. It fit PERFECTLY the day of the wedding. I would recommend getting 3 sizes bigger just in case. If I had gained one more pound, it may have not fit me. And I gained the average weight for my pregnancy. I gave birth exactly a week after the wedding. At least you most likely won't have to worry about going into labor during the wedding!!
EDIT: I just saw the dress you might wear... I don't know about that dress on a pregnant lady. The dress I wore was very flowy (I know that's not a word, but you get what I'm saying).
I unfortunately can't open the links right now but I was an 8 months pregnant matron of honor and I fell into the "just buy a couple sizes larger" trap. The dress fit horribly because increasing the size increases everything, including the length of the torso on the dress. The bodice in my size would have hit above my belly, but when I got the larger size, the bodice went down onto my belly and so we had to pull the whole thing up. It was a halter and by the time they got the bodice up far enough there was only a little V of skin showing at my neck. I was miserable and was crying in the bathroom because I looked like a giant green whale until a co-worker basically remade the whole dress for me. I still didn't look great, but it was better.
My advice is to order something that is either stretchy and can accommodate your belly, or order something with an empire waist with some kind of overlay that you can add panels to. Do not order a larger size imo!
Always Sunny's back b-tches!
I definitely don't think the first one will work. You could probably get away with the second one though. I was 6 months pg in my cousins wedding but I was the MOH so it was ok that my dress was slightly different (mine had straps and the others didn't) but luckily she picked a dress based on what would work for me. I'd sit down and seriously express your concerns especially if you're paying for the dress and alterations.
Lurking...
This is a dress a friend wore 8 months pregnant in a wedding we were in October
https://barijay.com/style.php?coll=barijay&showid=526Sorry, can't make clicky. It's style 370
It wasn't stretchy but it came in maternity so they were able to tailor it so that she looked really cute.
I agree. I think it would be best to order one of his maternity dresses in the same color as the bridesmaids. I was a matron of honor at 8 months pregnant and ended up spending double to order extra fabric and alter, when a maternity dress would have been far easier.
For less then ten cents a day, you can feed a hungry child.
