"renting" disney tickets

I remember seeing info about renting tickets or something like that and it saving a lot of money.  How does that work?  How do you know they are legit and how is it even doable?  Sites?  Suggestions?  Thanks.

  • I'm pretty certain this practice goes against the Disney terms and is actually illegal.

  • I wouldn't do it. I would pay the full price for a parkhopper or single day ticket. When I visited in September, my husband and I had a 3-day parkhopper. When we would go back and forth between parks, they stamp your hand and scan your ticket, checking both when you go back. You might want to check on Disney's site, they may have ticket deals going on right now.

Done, not gonna do it.  I don't even understand how this works, but am definitely curious how people get away with it then?!

  • the theory is you buy a 7day pass that has 12 days to be used, then user A goes for 3 or 4 days, and then user B uses it for the other 3 or 4 days. Then you split the cost.

It should work, but its most likely against policy, and you always run the possibilty of getting screwed. AAA has good deals right now

  • I'd be careful. It's definitely against the rules with Disney, and you'll have zero recourse if you get caught and the tickets taken.

Also, last time we were there (in September), they were checking IDs with the park hoppers at the gate. They forced us to sign the back of the tickets, so they could match them with our IDs. Maybe they don't do this all the time, maybe it's new (I don't think they did it when we went in January), but it adds another element of risk.
