I am at a total loss. I don't think he will have a "big" gift for Christmas this year because he already has a kitchen, a train set, an easel, etc.? So what else is there? We don't tend to buy him a lot of stuff b/c we just don't have room, but I want him to have some nice Santa gifts...
I think we will do a GeoTrax set -- what else??
Re: Ok, What Is Your 3YO Getting for Christmas/Their Bday?
That's a great idea! I need to try and talk DS into doing this
Ok well he is getting a Gum Ball Machine with Jelly Beans in it because he keeps asking for one. Why I do not know lol. My husband ordered one from JC Penny. What I got him below (it is my 7 month old I am having the hard time with )
- Train Table Set
- A tote bag that unfolds and turns into a car mat to drive his cars on and when he is done can put all his cars in it.
- Couple games for his V-Motion (got two games for 9.99 at Toys R Us)
- Play Mobil toy he loves Play Mobil
- Sock is all craft stuff - construction paper, melissa and doug sissors, crayons, colouring book (also tossed in some Thomas Trains for his Train Set)
- Two Outfits
- Melissa and Doug Cookie Baking set (loves loves loves to cook)
That is it.
If you live where there is Fall weather and you're not straight into snow I highly recommend a wheelbarrow, rake, broom set. We got them last year for both our boys and those toys get more use than just about anything! When the leaves are falling they love to help rake a pile, scoop it up in their own wheelbarrow and then dump them in the street. When I cut the grass they are out there with their little brooms sweeping all the cutting up off the sidewalk, raking them in piles, raking the main law cutting in piles and then filing up the wheelbarrow and taking it off to the "green waste pile" ( which my DH then puts in the bin).
Watch for them to go on sale. We go them last year on Amazon, $25- wheelbarrow and $10 each for the rake and broom. ETA: Looks like they're all on sale now. I'd jump on the rake and broom and if you have the free 2 day shipping I'd stalk the wheelbarrow for Amazon black friday deals.

DS is getting a Cars 2 Geotrax set and Hot Wheels Garage(both from Costco). He is also getting a smaller hot wheels set(gravity racer that you attach to a table), some cars, some Thomas trains, a Thomas piece(I think it's a engine wash....can't remember...maybe it's a crane), and remote control Flip(from Chuck the Truck) He has been asking for Flip for weeks now and keeps telling us that maybe Santa will ut it under the tree. So no big gift, just a lot of little stuff.
I know my dad got him Thomas stuff and MIL picked up the Hess truck and is planning on getting a Geotrax train or car.

I love these two beautiful children!
DD -- 5YO
DS -- 3YO
DS love GeoTrax and Thomas.
DS currently has Melissa and Doug mailbox and ice cream set and LOVES it.
For Christmas he is getting a memory game, giant magna doodle, little tikes bowling set, trains and m&d cookie set. We plan to get a few more items.
We arent really getting DS a "big gift" for Christmas, since he just had his b-day in October, and we got him a Kawasaki power wheel quad. For Christmas we are getting him the following:
socks, undershirts, underwear, thermal pj's, a leapster game, some legos, Hanes sweats from Target, books, and a bike helmet for when he uses his quad.
I guess if anything counts as his "big gift" it will be the Transformers Complete DVD set of the retro Transformers cartoons from the 80's. DS just LOVES the old cartoon episodes.
I've spent so much money on DS this year, I personally will be wrapping up some DVDs I bought earlier in the year. DH got him some cool toys though. Our names will be on both gifts. DS also gets so much from family and honestly, he has enough toys. If he gets more, there is no room for them---basically we'll have to donate older toys to make room for new toys.
For his birthday, he'll get a classroom birthday party and a family birthday party at the Bounce House. I'm sure he'll get additional "traditional" type gifts from family.
We bought DD1 a bike for her fourth birthday. We also bought the Little Tikes jump 'n slide bouncer to use for her party, and we may repackage that as a Christmas gift for both girls. Or we may go ahead with our original plan and get them a power wheel car.
Otherwise, for DD1 I have dollhouse furniture, one or two games, and books. I have a much harder time thinking of ideas for DD2 since she really just likes playing with her big sister's toys, but for now I just have books, maybe some play food.
