Hi ladies, I need some advise. I'm fairy new to the area. We live in Sacramento (east Sacramento actually) and we are close to 3 big hospitals: UC Davis, Mercy, and Sutter General. Are you familiar with these hospitals? Any recommendations? I need to pick a hospital first, and then I'll have to find an OB/GYN from the list in my insurance's website. Any thoughts?
Thanks
Re: Choosing a hospital to deliver my baby
My choice would be Sutter Davis, if that's an option for you.
There's a comparison list at https://www.betterbirthsacramento.com/Local%20Hospital%20Comparison.html

I delivered at Sutter Memorial and loved every second of my experience (and I had a tough one). I also absolutely adore my OB, Dr. Elizabeth McClure (although she is currently out and not accepting appts) but she is part of a great practice. They are located on Capital in a brand new building. Seriously, all the docs in her office are amazing.
But, Sutter Davis is supposed to be fantastic. If I had not already found an OB I loved, I would have considered switching.
And welcome! I live in Curtis Park.

Another rec for Sutter Memorial.....The Practice Ladipale referred to is also the same practice I go to...they are fantastic! My regular OB is Dr. Yiakis if you want a rec for that as well.
Honestly, I think the hospital is important, but I think the OB practice you choose is more important.
Congratulations!

I'm UC Davis too. The L&D rooms are nice and new, but if you need any "tools" for a natural/med-free birth, you're on your own. If I were you and had that many options, I'd worry about finding an OB that I really liked first and go from there.
