Best decision we've made in a while. We started using Busy Bees when we had a Groupon for them; now they come every 2 weeks. Hopefully we'll find room in our budget for them to come every week soon. At first we had different women each visit and their "skill" was hit or miss, but after the 3rd visit the main cleaning lady has stayed constant and we are very happy with her. She often has trainees with her but we trust her to make sure things are done well.
There is a cleaning lady I know from work who is always looking for more work. She is very sweet. PM me if your intrested in her name and contact number.
My husband and I got a cleaning lady last year because we were both traveling out of town for work more than usual and neither of us had any energy to clean the house during the weekends when we were home. Nice bonus: Now we don't fight over cleaning the bathrooms anymore. It is much more of an equal partnership now. We ended up keeping the cleaning lady for this reason.
We use A Touch of Love. My husband did all the research, not sure how he found them. They aren't perfect, but it's a good price and if you ask them to focus on certain things before they start (like clean the ceiling fans) they'll get those things done. We usually have the same woman come to our house once a month to clean for a flat rate of $80. We give her a $20 tip on top of that, even if she brings an assistant. She'll usually spend about 3 hours cleaning our little Broad Ripple house (2 BR, 2 BA, finished basement). The first cleaning cost more because they spent more time learning the house and cleaning stuff we hadn't cleaned in a long time.
In between cleanings, we started to notice the floors were getting dirty and the rugs were full of cat hair, so we splurged on an iRobot Roomba that's scheduled to run every morning during the week while we're at work.
Both of these have been the best purchases in our married life and contribute greatly to our marital bliss.
Re: cleaning lady or service?
Sorry, I can't help you.
Do you have a recommendation on how to talk my husband into hiring a cleaning service?
lol, that was funny!
my husband still thinks its a waste of money but gave it up. its just hard for me right now being so pregnant and having a 3 year old at home.
