video monitors

are monitors necessary?

If so, what do you rec? The cribs are side by side but we may move them into an L shape.

These babies are getting to be expensive! ;)

Re: video monitors

  • My twins aren't here yet, but I couldn't do it without my video monitor for my son! I'm addicted to it like a drug :)

We have a Motorola one that I LOVE after a really crappy experience with a Summer video monitor.

    This is it:

  • I have a Summer video monitor and it's been great! Less interference than our old Sony. (we live in a basement).

It was very eye opening to be able to see them. They were getting a lot less sleep than we had thought. But they can actually be quiet sometimes...

  • I heavily rely on our video monitor, love love love it. We have the summer infant best from target, got it on sale and saved $50. Maybe check out black friday/cyber monday or wait until some target baby sales.

  • Sure you can get by without a video monitor, but I think we are much more laid back parents because we know we can just see what they're up to when we hear something. We have the MobiCam - it was the only one that didn't interfere with our wifi.

  • My shower was saturday and i got the Levana safe and see and I LOVE IT! it has remote music, nightlight, and i can talk to the babies, the picture quality is good... the sound quality is a little tunnel like but i only need to hear them cry not understand a conversation... I can'r wait till they are here to use it!

  • We have the LOREX and LOVE it!  Not only is it a handheld monitor, so you can be anywhere in the house, outside, etc.  You can talk through it and take pictures.  It was recommended to us from this site when I asked and everyone raved about it!  We got it at Costco,  so it came with two cameras.  You can put up to four cameras on this one screen for you to see.  They can be by themselves, alternate, or all at once.  It is awesome!

  • I guess it depends on how big your house is.  I have the Lorex monitor with two cameras and we've set it up and tested it and it works fine...but we don't use it.  I'm not far from the girls and can hear them just fine if they cry.
