XP OB appointment went great!!

I just got back home after my appointment, I am so excited cause I got to hear the babies heartbeats for the first time! We were able to distinct the 2 babies completely because one was faster than the other, both heartbeats sounded great. I'm measuring at 19 weeks for a singleton baby. I also got to talk more about the deliveries of the babies with my OB I am so confident with my Dr because she has a lot of experience with delivering twins. She said she has done breech deliveries for baby B many times before. I'm a little nervous because with twins she said I would have to deliver (if possible to deliver naturally) in the OR and not in a regular room. I have tons of faith in my OB and I know she knows what she is doing! :) All in all- It was a great appointment! I also scheduled in 4 weeks my ultrasound for the measurments and everything! :)

  • Sounds great! Glad you have someone you feel comfortable with.

I see my OB for the first time on the 8th. I had seen her before for regular yearly checkups, so I have no idea what her experience is with twins. I have a TON of questions and hope that my intuition about her from before will still work out.

  • Congrats on your babies! ...I know the OR sounds scary--and not to scare you but dont fight it!  Baby A delivered vaginally perfectly for me in less than 10 minutes of pushing...as soon as she was out baby B's chord came out-- they put me under and did a c section for him in less than 6 minutes but he was blue and it took about 1 minute of chest compressions to get him to revive...initially I was totally against going into the OR because I figured "I'm at the hospital if you need to get me back there we can get there..." now I realise that those extra 2 minutes could have cost me by beautiful boy. Ask to labor in the L&D room but when its time to push, let them take you to the OR its way worth it!

Thank you for the advice! I'll definitley ask if I can labor in a regular room.. I want to be comfortable for the pain of the contractions! And I also heard that getting an epidural is recommended incase of an emergency c section, I don't want to have to be put to sleep! thanks again. :)
