DD used to fall asleep/nap cradled in my arms. For the past two weeks, she will only fall asleep on me tummy to tummy. At night, she sleeps in her bouncy chair, but not for more than 4 hours at a time. We were thinking of transitioning her to her co-sleeper soon.
Do I have a tummy sleeper? Should I put her on her tummy in the co-sleeper? At what point do you let LO sleep on their tummy?
DD hates having her arms swaddled. We use the Halo sleepsack, which works for a while. At around 4am, she will start to really fight to get her arms out and scream. I would end up undoing to velcro and she will sleep from 5-6:30am, but would wake up every 10 minutes or so because her arms are flailing.
Would you just leave her arms unswaddled the whole night, even though she wakes herself up with her arms? At what age do they have better control of their arms?
DD has had baby acne for 3 weeks, but they are getting better. However, she has these scab looking things on both eyebrows. They are not red, more like tan, dry skin looking bumps. They don't seem to bother her.
Any idea what they are? Should I call the pedi about them?

Re: XP: A bunch of FTM questions
We did not do any tummy sleeping until she rolled that way herself and we couldn't stop it. Which didn't happen until we ditched the swaddle at 5ish months. I would not put her on her tummy personally if she could not get there herself and definitely not while swaddled.
No advice on the rest, sorry.

I don't think I'd put her on her tummy until she was rolling-but you know your LO.
We never swaddled arms in so I'm no help. Maybe we got lucky that way? I don't feel like that was how S ever woke herself up.
Maybe try Aquaphor on the bumps? I

DS usually likes to sleep on my tummy probably due to gas or reflux reasons (also probably cause he wants to snuggle!). At my last pedi's visit, his doctor told me to keep him upright against my tummy for least 20-30mins after feedings (this is super long in middle of night, oh well). By the time 20 mins are over, he is usually passed out and burps nicely since I pat his back lightly on and off when he is upright. Once he is completely sleep, I don't have issues putting him in his pnp in the middle of night. I do spend at least ~45mins to do all this every time he wakes up at night.

I know lot of people swear by swaddlers and they do work great, but not for my DS. He has been going to sleep in fleece footy pajamas at night. He still has the startling reflux, but doesn't wake himself up from it. Try unswaddling her again for one night and see what happens.

My DS has a little bit of that, I am honestly not concerned. I think it is starting to clear up a little. I just make sure I clean his face with water everyday.
I didn't let C sleep on her tummy until she was at least 9 months old. We bedshare and I would roll her onto her back if she rolled over on her own. DD used to love sleeping tummy to tummy with me. She had colic and it was one of the only things that helped.
DD also hated being swaddled. She learned to get her arms out. I think I swaddled her until she was about 3 months old, but if she got her arms out I left her alone.
I wouldn't do tummy sleeping yet. I'm thinking wait until she can roll over so she can get herself out of a pickle.
Regarding the swaddling, have you tried a swaddlepod? We stumbled upon them (DH grabbed them while I was in the hospital so we'd have more newborn sized 'swaddles') and for us they made a good transition from swaddling to not. They are a little looser than a swaddle, but still kept his hands from flailing. The zipper is a double zipper as well, so you you can zip up from the bottom to do a diaper or down from the top if she wants her hands free. I have nothing to tell you regarding the bumps. Hope they clear up soon though.

We just started using the swaddlepod too they can't escape it but they can move their hands around. It's definetly worth a try!
Ditto pps about not putting LO on her tummy. DS didn't start sleeping on his tummy until 4 months old, when he started rolling over from his back. At that point, there really wasn't much I could do about it. When I asked the pedi, he said it was ok as DS could adjust his head to breathe at that point. He also suggested running a fan to help with air circulation in the room, so I did that to make me feel a little more at ease with DS on his tummy. This isn't to say that on occasion after nursing, DS wouldn't fall asleep on me while on his tummy before 4 months. But when he was in the bassinet or crib, he was always on his back.
Not every baby likes to be swaddled. I did it early on and it worked in the beginning, but then DS became Houdini and would wiggle his way out of it. He did much better with the sleep sacks where he could have his arms free. It's possible that something else is waking her (hunger?) and not necessarily her arms being free.
DS had pretty bad acne from about 5 weeks and it lasted a few weeks. As per the pedi, I didn't do anything and it cleared up on its own. I'm not sure about the bumps...if they don't seem to be getting better, it's worth a call to the pedi.
DD loves sleeping belly to belly on DH, but slept on her back until a few days ago when she figured out how to get herself onto her side. We'll let her sleep on her tummy when she rolls herself that way in her crib (we'll always put her down on her back).
My DD hated the swaddle too- we went with the Halo sleep sack, and she often would fight her way out, but without crying. I'd just go to get her and she'd miraculously have freed herself from the velcro straight jacket that is the Halo swaddle. I'd say keep them in since that's how you get the long stretch of sleep from her. We just started letting her have her arms free when she learned to roll from back to belly so that should she flip herself, she has her arms to help right it and/or move her head around.
The scab-ish things on her eyebrows- maybe cradle cap?
We moved him to a Rock n Play and he slept great in it. He hated to be swaddled, but hated to be "free" in an open space like his bassinet or PnP. Now that he's sleeping in his PnP he's a belly sleeper. I will not put him to sleep on his belly, but he rolls that way. They say that if the baby rolls themselves onto their belly in their sleep not to move them.
Try the RnP. It's cozy enough that their arms aren't able to flair about.
DS slept in the Arms Reach co-sleeper from the day he came home until he was about 7 months. I love that thing.
I used to always put DS on his back to sleep. Now he rolls over and sleeps on his tummy with his butt in the air, but I never laid him on his tummy until he could roll both ways (back to front and front to back). Now putting him on his back is a lost cause.
DS was swaddled from the start in the NICU. Then when he came home I continued to swaddle him. I think I stopped around 4 months or so. I know you can swaddle with arms out but we never did. Honestly DS preferred the sleep sack.
