Re: ~Weekly check-in for those taking a treatment break~
My break is going so-so. My last acupuncture session was just ok (instead of awesome like the one before). I also made an appointment for my annual ob/gyn check-up, which I dread due to all the bellies in the waiting room.
In addition to turkey, I really love sweet potatoes with tons of marshmallows on top! I only cook them at Thanksgiving. I can't wait to start cooking!

My favorite food is kind of odd, but it's what I look forward to every year. My mother makes me egg noodles in the turkey broth at Thanksgiving that I eat over my mashed potatoes. So weird, but sooooooo good.

But I will try to enjoy all the family time I can since the last time I saw my parents was last Christmas.
Food: I'm looking forward to my mom's homemade cornbread stuffing!! To drink, I'm sure there will be lots of wine that day but the next day DH & I are going to go to a Starbucks & get the Egg Nog Latte! I'm actually looking more forward to drinking that then the wine LOL.

My Blog
My break is ok but I am ready to get this lap surgery behind me in December. Of course this past week my boobs have been swollen and sore and that puts wishful thoughts into my head although I am using my common sense and blaming it on AF. Even though its a break you still can't help but think aboout TTC, especially if you are like me and it seems like every person around you is either pregnant or just had a baby.
I have a close group of about 7 female friends. Two of them had babies last November, one girl had her baby last Tuesday, and the other one is 7 months pregnany with baby #2. The other 2 girls aren't even trying to get pregnant cause one just got married 1 week ago and the other just started dating a new guy. That just leaves me out of the baby loop. Oh well, it only makes me stronger.
My favorite holiday food item would probably be the dressing. I am actually looking forward to drinking my momma's sweet tea and eating pretty much everything, especially the sweet treats.

Thanks for keeping this going!!
My break is sucking. It feels like forever long with no end in sight. I think it's making me more depressed about the whole situation. I just blogged about it (shameless blog plug).
I'm not really into holiday food- I do bake butter cookies that I'm pretty stoked about. Can't wait to bake them this year!
((hugs))
Our "break" took a new turn a couple of weeks ago, making it even more indefinite than it was before. I haven't shared this here, because I didn't want to make a new post about it because it makes me even more of an outsider (in my perception), but DH started T replacement therapy two weeks ago. It took a lot of thought and consideration, yet little at the same time. We didn't go to a uro or have another SA. DH wanted to feel better and I wanted a decision made, and when we weighed the costs of un-covered drugs for him to go another route, we decided on TRT and we'll deal with the consequences later. So I'm pretty much just a hood ornament around here
I'm excited for my mom's food. We're hosting Thanksgiving, but my mom is making my favorites. Also, I can't wait to make saltine toffee. I know I could make it any time, but there's something Christmasy about it and I can't wait for the first taste.
P/SAIF Welcome
Invisible Finish Line
3T's Traveling Ovary Blog
7DPO Progesterone: low. CD3 BW: normal, HSG: clear
DX: severe MFI (low all 3) and low T. Undergoing replacement therapy.
My break isn't going so well. I absolutely hate every part of IF (not that anyone actually enjoys it). Each day seems to get harder and harder. Growing up I always had a feeling that I would never know what it would feel like to be pg, I am coming to the realization that this may be true. I had a total meltdown last night and cried my eyes out. The worst part was we were w/ some of DH's friends...yeah I feel like a complete idiot today!!!
On a lighter note, my favorite thanksgiving day food is probably green bean casserole. I can't wait for dinner and I am going to totally stuff my face with food
First RE appt 5/11
Dx w/ Stage IV Endo
IVF #1 July/Aug 2011. Long lupron protocol ER 8/8 ET 8/11 = BFN
IVF #2 - Postponed due to cyst/endo. Lap scheduled for 9/11

QOTW:
First, how is your break going? My break is okay. The holidays make it easier because time flies when you are having fun! We got the go ahead from DH's urologist to do IVF with ICSI in January. As of right now we are just waiting on our insurance.
Second, what is your fav holiday food item? What are you looking forward to eating or drinking this season? In terms of eating, I love homemade stuffing with turkey! Drinking - bring on the wine! I am also looking forward to my aunt's pumpkin martinis!
TTC since March/April 2010
DX: MFI - less than 1 million sperm, 26% motility
DH put on anastrozole to increase counts
June/July 2011 100 mg Clomid + TS IUI#1 & IUI 2 - BFN :-(
Forced break due to DH getting spinal surgery in August 2011
IVF - January 2012: BFN
FET in April 2012 - BFP at 6dp5dt! Beta #1 at 9dp5dt: 82.5, Beta #2 at 12dp5dt: 352 Beta #3 at 19dp5dt: 6000, saw heartbeat and one little bean at 5W6D!
After nearly 3 years of waiting our LO was born December 18th 2012!
Hi everyone! I had my final beta 11/10 and I'm finally back to 0. That is a relief to be done with beta hell.
All last week I was out of town for work, so I was busy, having fun, and distracted (all until people asked me if I had kids, if I wanted them, blah blah). But I've been pretty good, it helps that I'm swamped at work and have my new puppy. Plus the holidays are here!
Well I love everything at Thanksgiving, the whole plate full + dessert and drinks! I can't wait!
My break is actually going okay - better than I thought. It's nice to be off meds for a bit and feel somewhat "normal". DH and I have been contemplating a move with his company which would take us out of state so it's nice to focus on other future oriented things other than stupid IF. I'm fortunate to not have to deal with a lot of kids and pregnancies over the Thanksgiving holiday (at least none that I know of right now anyway).
I'm looking forward to turkey and my mom makes the best cherry cheesecake that we actually finish up for dessert the next day, YUM! Other than that, wine is always mighty nice during the holiday season. For those of us taking a break until the New Year, here's to 2012 bringing us our BFPs!!
Dx: Anovulation, Endo, only one working tube and ovary
IUIs 1-5 = BFNs
IVF #1 - ER 7/9 3dt 7/12
Transferred two beautiful 8 cell embryos
Beta #1 7/26 = 484 Beta #2 7/28 = 1045
. U/S 8/10 showed one baby with a strong heartbeat!
It's a BOY!!

Hope everyone is doing well.
QOTW: My break is getting very tiring. I've been on a break since April for lupron and thought that I would be receiving treatment by now... but STILL no AF ugh. It's really starting to wear me down, waiting for lupron to leave my system so we can start treatment. Fav holiday food item... as a good Cuban my favorite is turron; American food- pecan pie (minus the pecans ha ha)
Pulga, what is turron?
Brooke's saltine toffee sounds pretty good too!
You people are making me hungry!! LOL!
My break is getting harder and harder. I need to call in for Provera this week before the holiday, and I am trying to convince DH that we should cycle now instead of waiting for the new year. I am just antsy and want it NOW. I know you girls can relate.
My favorite holiday food item is anything pumpkin. I also LOVE appetizers so I look forward to the holiday parties coming up. I did an event and ended up with three leftover cases of Crown Royal Black--I have been mixing it with apple cider, it is delish!!
