? about blankets

Here's a stupid question from a FTM: It's getting colder here and I want to put something on DD that's heavier than footed pajamas. I have a few of these longsleeve wearable sleepsack/blankets, but I'm not sure what to put her in underneath. It seems excessive to have longsleeve pj's underneath. Should I put her in an undershirt onesie? What do you guys do? Thanks!

Re: ? about blankets

  • We do a onesie, socks, fleece pjs and a fleece sleep sack. It has taken us a few weeks to figure out any less layers means he won't SSTN. If its cold out, we'll add mittens too.

  • We use Halo fleece sleep sac. Last night I did fleece footed pjs and fleece sleep sac. DH was dream feeding at 11pm and said she was sweating so she changed her into a cotton footie. I am ALWAYS hot when I sleep guess DD is like me.
  • We got the sleep sacs that don't have sleeves for this reason.. We didn't want LO to get overheated when she was sleeping. Under her sleep sac we have her wearing cotton/ thermal (if you can even really call them that) pj's... When it gets colder she will also be wearing her fleece footed pj's.

  • I also have the Halo sleep sack. Underneath he wears a onesie and a footed sleeper.

We haven't added mittens but I like the idea the PP said o ly because sometimes his hands are freezing.

  • Thanks for the advice. I'm going through our stuff and I see that we have both Halo sleepsacks and longsleeve "bunting" type wearable blankets. I guess we can do both!
