For those of you that are experiencing (or have already experienced) m/s, I'm hoping you can answer a few of my questions. I'm still very early (5w0d) and haven't yet had m/s, so I'm not really sure what to expect!
1. When did you first experience m/s? (which week)
2. When in the day did you experience m/s? I've heard that is can last ALL DAY (not just the morning). What exactly happens? Do you wake up feeling sick to your stomach? Or is it somehow tied into food aversions (you get sick after eating)?
Thanks! (and I apologize if these questions are really dumb... I'm just not really sure what to expect!)

**Good luck to gatorwife,MissIntentional&corinne2010! Congrats to Piper2009!
First time around, I got it right at 5 weeks on the nose (lasted till 13 weeks). Mine was throughout the day, no specific time. It would get the worst on my commute to work, when I needed a snack, and at bedtime. I never actually threw up though.
For me, Preggie Pop Drops were a must-have. I also tried Sea Bands and they worked more often than not. Having snacks like carrots, nuts, or bland crackers available was key, too.
This time around, it seems to have hit a little earlier - I was feeling pretty ill last night and on and off today, at just over 4 weeks.

-Started for me at 6w exactly and got a bit worse around 7w. I'll explain below.
2. When in the day did you experience m/s? I've heard that is can last ALL DAY (not just the morning). What exactly happens? Do you wake up feeling sick to your stomach? Or is it somehow tied into food aversions (you get sick after eating)?
-At first it started for me only during my bus commute/subway ride. I was queasy during the ride and when I got off, I would (TMI) gag a few times and it would go away once I sat still at my desk for about 5 minutes. This happened both on my morning commute and evening commute.
But at about 7weeks, it increased to alllll day long. It is most prominent after commuting, standing up, or eating. This weekend I have been laying down a lot and it's lessened but when I'm at work, it's constant. I must have gagged hundreds of times, including during meetings because I couldn't prevent it (I had to pretend I was coughing). It got so bad I actually called out sick on Thursday. I have not yet thrown up though.
For me, it's mostly a need to gag followed by dry heaving. Once I feel the need, I can't stop it. And actually, nothing except laying down seems to be able to prevent it for me, which is not that great for work when I can't lay down!
Also, the food aversions are there. I don't want anything, the thought of food literally makes me gag, and I have to force myself to eat and then I still gag. It sucks!
It generally doesn't start until my commute though or on weekends when I have breakfast or smell something. Anything.

For me the general queasiness started around week 5. I carried some crackers with me and nibbled on those whenever I felt a little iffy, and that helped. At 6 weeks, the full-on morning sickness started, and it hasn't let up since. The past two weeks I've been super-nauseous 24/7.
I got on a prescription for Zofran a few days ago so I'd be able to keep food down, but it's really hard to find something that sounds good to eat. Almost everything sounds disgusting.
Enjoy your nausea-free days while they last, and good luck!

1. Mine started a little over a week ago, so week 6.
2. I'm one of the lucky ones who has it all day. Or it can pop up at random times during the day. I wake up feeling sick, have food aversions, and generally feel nauseous most of the day. Sometimes I wish I could just throw up and get it over with. I actually feel better after I eat, so I try to eat a lot of protein to stay full. (Last pg, I ate crackers and pretzels so I wouldn't puke and I gained way too much weight from doing that.) I just went grocery shopping and had to walk through the store silently saying, "Please, God, don't let me puke." Of course, halfway through one of the guys from the meat counter offered me a sample of pepper tilapia with mango relish.
ETA: Peppermint tea is helping me, as are tiny Altoids. And I definitely have food aversions. Last pg, I couldn't eat chicken until about week 17. This time, dill, mushrooms, and fish have made me gag so far.
I am 6w4d, and other than feeling a little pukey every now and then, I've been okay. Some smells get to me, but no gagging or anything like that yet.
With #1, it was around 6 weeks... no actual puking, I just couldn't eat ANYTHING.
