Give me some TV ideas! (N3TR)

I'm going out of my mind! I'm living in Hong Kong and our apartment only gets 3 English speaking channels and the same 6 shows re-run and re-run and re-run! DH has been out of town for a week and I have no one to talk to, so I'm going nuts! I downloaded some "House" from iTunes and I've been watching some "Covert Affairs" on Sidereel.com.... but I'm at a loss, give me some ideas, what are your favorite tv shows? If I know what I'm looking for I can try to find some new episodes online.

I don't know if it's an option, but starting Mad Men at season one will certainly take up your time. That show is addicting. DH and I have gone through 3 seasons in just a few weeks. We really like it.

Try hulu.com, its free tv! Some good shows.. 2 broke girls, vampire diaries (hot guys), big bang theory, private practice, grey's, the lying game, HIMYM, once upon a time, drop dead dvia (not doing new shows til Jan but is soo cute), Glee...

And now I look like a tv junkie LOL

Could you buy a couple of TV shows on DVD that you have heard about or want to check out? Maybe get like the first season of a couple of shows to see if you like them.

ABC: Pan Am

NBC: The Office, 30 Rock

Travel Channel: Ghost Adventures, The Dead Files

Comedy Central: South Park (gross, I know), Tosh.O, The Daily Show, Te Colbert Report.

I know that you can def watch full episodes of anything on Comedy Central and most major network websites, including ABC and NBC.

Unfortunately I'm stuck watching pirated versions online! The networks full episodes online don't work here either, copyright law. And we did bring a bunch of DVDs but none of them work in our DVD player - something having to do with them being American DVDs and it being a Chinese DVD player - it's like trying to watch Beta with a VHS. I haven't seen any seasons of American tv shows available at the stores -- but I do get nonstop reruns of America's Next Top Model, Masterchef, Masterchef Australia, New Girl, and more America's Next Top Model. They show an occasional episode of Glee and it's like gold to me!

This! When we were living abroad and reliant on iTunes, Mad Men was just coming out - it was a lifesaver! I also found that good old-fashioned soapy drama was perfect for a mental break while living abroad. I mainlined Grey's Anatomy from iTunes, and Private Practice is available there now too - could be good! It looks like Supernatural is on iTunes - lots of people love that.

And I see Parks & Rec is available there too... I'm a little biased there, since I love that show to pieces (see siggy Smile )

Netflix streaming maybe? We are huge fans of Dexter, true blood, modern family, new shows up all night and free agent are pretty good, big bang theory...I know there are a ton more but thats all I can think of at the moment.

How I Met Your Mother, 2 Broke Girls, Hart of Dixie, Justified, Law and Order:SVU, NCIS, The Next Iron Chef, Prime Suspect, Harry's Law, Royal Pains, Whitney and Chopped. And I can't resist showing my age...One Tree Hill! Good Luck!
