Trouble TTC

What should the progressive motility be?  Would that be the same as speed?  I have the sheet but progressive motility on it.

Thanks so much for your help/advice!

After more than 2 years of fertility treatments, FET did the trick!

hijacking you- I checked DHs uro sheet for you. It says progressive motility should average more than grade 2.75. I would guess that there are many scales for this though!

Ohhh.  Progression is on here.  It says its 3 but 4 post wash.

Thanks so much!  It doesn't say what it's supposed to be on my sheet.

sbrowns is right!  There are a lot of different scales because it is a slightly more subjective test.  But yes, it is generally correlated to speed, and how the sperm are moving (i.e., are they making a beeline for something or are they "wandering" around)... so if you have something about speed that would be the same type of analysis.

Here is one standard, but I have seen others:

ETA:  Just saw you posted the numbers.... 3s and 4s are great (I think that's pretty universal).  And you should listen to what sbrowns has to say because she just taught me about progressive mot the other day -- no other REs had even brought it up, but it seems pretty damn important!

Severe MFI. Me: supposedly all clear but eggs showed vacuoles.

IVF #1 January 2012, ER Jan 14th: 34R, 27M, 23F. Day 3: 18 embies still strong. Day 5: zero "good," one "fair," the rest "poor." Transferred 3. None made it to blast or to freeze. Jan 28: BFN.

Lucky IVF #2: Transferred two beautiful day three embies on St. Patrick's Day. BFP on HPT 7dp3dt. Beta 1 (14dpER)=106; Beta 2 (16dpER)=140; Beta 3 (19dpER)=264! First u/s 4.17.

  • Thanks so much ladies.  I know nothing about this and you guys have been so helpful.  I just want to have a clue when I call on Monday.

    Thanks!

ETA:  I feel so much better already!
