From all this discharge, and watery leakage (TMI) , I totally agreed with one of our Dec mom posters yesterday, Why don't they give us the strips? Instead of us having to investigate and or smell our underwear or pad every time.
I heard it is suppose to have a sweet smell to it?
Is this fairly accurate. DH and I learned this at our pre-natal class. But in the last week or two, being so wet has caused my DH to be a little nervous and always asks me " Are you sure your not "leaking" leaking"? I'm fairly sure...Until last night I read that amniotic fluid can smell like mild bleach? What the F? That doesn't have a sweet smell to it at all..
What do you ladies think? Anyone with experience with their water breaking?
Re: What did you hear amniotic fluid smelled like?
Amniotic fluid does not smell like ammonia or urine. It can have a sweet smell or a more alkaline (bleach) smell. Some women say it smells like male semen. It can also have no odor at all. If you're smelling ammonia, that's pee.
This is so funny because to me, my DH's semen smells JUST like bleach
That's exactly what I was thinking... I don't go around smelling body fluids like semen, discharge.... gross!
um ok...well then I guess you've never performed oral sex on your DH since you think just smelling semen is "gross"...and who said anything about discharge? I am talking about amniotic fluid which can have a smell, and you don't have to get down and sniff it to detect the odor. If you think smelling bodily fluids is gross, good luck to you.
