How many times should LO poop?

Hello Ladies,

Sorry I know this may be a stupid question but it's my 1st baby and I really don't know....

LO is breastfed but I am supplementing in the middle of the night/early mornings (1-2 bottles) As of yesterday, LO is only pooping once a day...Is this normal? TIA

    Yes, the more breastmilk a baby is getting the less poop you see around 4-6 weeks. For a blissful while, LO was only pooping every 2-3 days.

    Solids have wrecked that for us.

    We went through the same thing when she was about 6 or 7 weeks old...from poop in every diaper to all of the sudden, no poop for a day or two. Now she poops every 2 or 3 days but when she does, we usually end up having to completely bathe and change her, like she's been saving it up. Our pediatrician told us that breastfed babies can go up to a week without pooping! I guess we should enjoy it while we can ;)

    Thank you for the info ladies...I tried looking this information up but had conflicting info. Yes, when she does poop it's like she was saving it up! lol
