Nestie holiday party?

Just because I'm trying to get an idea of what my calendar is going to look like for the next five weeks, has there been any discussion about a nestie holiday party?

I missed last year's and I was so bummed about that!

    I think the rule is the 1st person to post about it is responsible for putting it together. :P

     

    Oh and it would be sad not to have one- it has been 5 years running.

    Me too. But I would be open to hosting. Maybe we vote on a day first, then we see who can host then?

    I want to go but have absolutely no responsibilities besides bringing something that doesn't need to be cooked Big Smile  After stressing out so much about hosting Thanksgiving I don't want to sign up for anything else right now.

    Holiday party is usually no kids except newborns (breastfeeding etc) or if have zero other options right? Because I'm all kinds of down for talking to grownups without worrying about Emily eating plants and destroying snowglobes...

    Yes, but it is my understanding, and someone pleaded correct me if I'm wrong, that there was a secondary party for the girls who didn't want to drive south. I'm not referring to offline friend kind of party, but one that was put together to avoid south Austin.
    i do think this year is north, though.

    Was there not a good turn out?

     If there was a secondary north party planned it wasn't for everyone. At least I didn't hear about it.  I forgot last year's was south. I didn't go (1st time in years) but not because it was south. It was just a bad day/time for me.

    If there was a north one last year, I didn't hear about it.

    FCB- I made a joke at bookclub last year about hosting a north party, but I was completely joking (as is my usual style when it comes to crossing the river). I even remember someone saying, "Seriously??" and I said (something along the lines of) "No, I was just kidding." 

    I guess someone took me seriously and passed it on as something that was really happening. So, maybe that's what you heard? If so, yeah, I'll confirm that there wasn't an alternate par-tay.

    I'm off of 183 in (way) north Austin.

    I have no problem driving to north Austin. But it'll be kind of expensive for me to get back for the 17th. I'll have to fly home early. :)

    I hate saying that I can't make a date when I also can't back it up with hosting on an alternate date.

    I can't make it then either, :(.  I could probably host but I'm up in Round Rock near Ikea.  I could only do it on one date as well though- Sunday the 11th.

    MC, I'm not sure where it came from. It wasnt substantiated, which is why I didn't bring it up previously.

    I too could host but only the weekend of the 10th. I'm also north Austin as in Pflugerville but the southern end of PF.
