Christmas cards/pics

So please tell me I am not the only one doing a "cutsie" Christmas card? We always jsut take the kids to beach, park, mt's and take our own pics of the kids. We make a day of it and the kids love it. I think we are going to go to the mt's and pick apples the weekend after Thanksgiving and will try to get a pic then.

    We're doing the same thing. I think we are doing it this weekend. I've been researching photocard deals online and I think I've found one I like. I'm pretty excited. This is the first year I'm doing the photocard. I've just sent traditional ones in the past.

    I took pics of B here, and ordered the digital copy of a card off etsy.  Printed them at a local place, and should start writing on them soon... that seems like so much work.  I totally took cheesy pics of B with christmas lights though. He's adorable.

    Can you share with us the Etsy shop where you found it? I was thinking I wasn't gonna go the whole cutesy Xmas card route this year but a friend (a pro photographer) offered to take a couple pics of DS :)

    It was fast, but she wasn't willing to make ANY changes to the card beyond photos and colour of text, and font.  I had asked her to add a snowflake or two to my card to make it more christmasy, but she said no.

    I took a bunch of Christmas pictures this weekend and we will be sending out a photo Christmas Card and Calendar!

    I've never taken the "cutsie" pics for the holidays.  We do 2 professional sessions a year with our photographer and I pick my favorites from the most recent shoot.  Our pics this year, we are wearing purples/pinks (to honor the daughter /sister we had this year) and they were shot outside in early October for my DS' 3rd birthday.  Not a single card we have ever sent has been a "traditional" Christmas pic by any means.  My DS' 1st year, I have pro pics taken of him under our tree/with this stocking etc, but I didn't use them for the card that year.
