Baby Showers

Shower Food help!

Hi Ladies,

I could use some help with helpling my mom decide the food for my shower. She orginally wanted to do Sloppy joes, taco dip, veggies that kind of stuff and I said I would rather not do the same old Football Sunday foods. So I suggested this....

The party is going to be on a Sunday in the middle of winter from 1-4. This is what I have so far.

Appetizers

?         Meat Balls

?         Cucumber Sandwiches  -

?         Bacon Wrapped water chest nuts

?         Hot spinach & artichoke dip

?         Shrimp Dip

?         Veggie Tray -

?         Tortilla Pin Wheels -

?         Nana?s Chicken wings

Dessert

?         Snowflake shapped Rice Krispies

?         Cake

Since we are not doing this over lunch I thought that doing appetizers and desserts would be enough....What do you ladies think?? DO I need a main entree??

Re: Shower Food help!

  • Maybe offer a green salad?  Other than that it looks like you will have a nice selection.

  • Is it a co-ed shower, how many guests?

1 can still be considered lunch so you may want to add either cold meat sandwiches or a pasta option.  Overall I think your menu looks great.

  • It's a semi co-ed shower...LOL if that makes sense. My DH, step father, grandpa, FIL and BIL will be there. We are all very close. I am certain that many of my friends husbands will not want to come so I'm leaving it rather open.

  • I think it looks great although I'd forego the cucumber sandwiches (cucumbers aren't in season here and are tasteless).  I wouldn't have a salad either (just makes everything harder I think).  I think you have plenty of food, even for those that didn't eat lunch.
  • I'd skip the cucumber sandwiches.  Everything else seems warm, so they kinda stick out.

Btw - If I saw 1 on an invite, I would definitely expect lunch.  I think as long as you have enough food to make up a full meal, you should be ok.

  • darn it, now I am craving cucumber salad.Big Smile
