Toddlers: 24 Months+

Size 24 month or 2 T underwear... need soon.. where to go?

I am having trouble finding underwear for 24 months or JUST 2 T.. My daycare is awesome and is really helping us w/ DD who is doing fantastic.. and she would like us to get at least 8 pairs of undewear for DD to wear at daycare.. but we can only find 2t-3t (in one size)

Anyone know if the cotton training pants by gerber are like underwear? Those are the only ones I can find even close.

I have a Target and a Kmart near by... thoughts?

Thanks in advance!!

  • Been there, done that.  I feel your pain.  On the upside, my DD just turned 2 and has been fully potty trained during the day since the end of August (and is night training herself at this point.)  She is tiny so it was hell finding undies that fit.  The "big box" stores had nothing.

The Gerber training pants (I was able to find 18-24mos on amazon) are ok.  They are thicker than regular undies but if you don't tell DD the difference she won't know at this point.  They also come up a lot higher so they may stick out of her pants but again, she may not care.  The best brand I have been able to find is Green Dog, size XS.  They sell them in packs of 5 and I found them at Macys (they are white w/ pastel trim, so they don't show under most clothes).  Also, Gap Kids (not baby gap, bizarrely theirs are bigger) size xxs hipsters are really small too.  The don't stay up quite as well on DD as the Green Dog brand but they work (I bought them before I found the Green Dog ones).   Good luck!!!

Yes the cotton pants are like underwear. Try gap or Hannah Anderson for very small underwear.

Unless your DD is on the bigger size, skip Hanna Anderson.  I bought several pairs there (again before I found the others) and I ended up takign them back.  Even the smallest size literally fell off DD as she walked across the room.  Plus, they are expensive.

  • I bought ds 2t/3t underwear.  Washed them and dried them on hot and they ft him okay when he was about 26 months old.  I put him in hanes or fruit of the loom.

  • I have a feeling I'm going to have this problem when ds starts potty training.  He was a preemie, and is still really small for his age.  In fact, he wears 18 months in most clothes and 24 months.   I may have to check out Macys for the Greendog brand.

  • My daughter is thin - just 24lbs - and she wears 2T (they may even be 2T-3T) Hanes undies. They fit fine. They bag in the butt a little, but they don't fall down. They actually fit her much better than 2T pants do. I get them at Target. If I were you, I'd buy a package to try out. If they don't fit, she'll grow into them.

  • Have you tried the 2T/3T underwear?  DD has some Yo Gabba Gabba ones and they shrink a little after washing too.

  • DD is tiny!  18 month pants fall down around her knees but 2T-3T panties fit her fine.  I've found them at (Super) Target in the baby section around the socks, layette & blanket sort of area.  We do have a few pairs of the Cotton Gerber Training panties in 18 months we ordered off Amazon.  They still fit her but so do the Gerber 2T's.  The are like regular underwear but have more padding in the middle to soak up more of the "accident".  I still use them from time to time & she doesn't notice the difference, now put her in a pair of Pull-Ups & she will pee in them just as if she were in a diaper!

  • DD is tall and skinny and has no butt.  She wears 24 month pants - and needs the adjustable waist to keep them up.  She wears the 2t-3t undies fine.  I don't remember the brand, but they are the princess ones at walmart.
  • DD has the skinniest butt ever- wears either 24m pants or 2T leggings, but the 2T/3T fit her fine. I even accidentally bought her a pack of 4T and they fit okay, just slightly baggy in front.

  • The undies they sell at Target/Walmart/B3 etc are some Handy something brand (all the character ones). They run REALLY small! At least for boys they do. My LO is just in 2T pants but they 2T/3T undies were way too small! I had to buy 4T since he wanted Diego. Hanes fit him just fine at 2T/3T, as does the Gerber and Carters.

I think Carters also have smaller sizes, I did see 18 mos in their waterproof training pants.

  • I havne't had much luck but I did by the gerber training pants in 2T and the are HUGE they fall off and don't seal at all on his legs.  I have tons of 2t/3t undies they all are huge but some of them are used and have been shrunk

  • This is way late, but I actually found it better to have underpants that were slightly too big - easier to get on and off. The Target 2T/3T were pretty small after being washed as well.
