Animation of Birth from the Inside Out

I thought this was kind of cool and thought I would share.  It is a cool animation that shows what happens to your body and baby on the inside during the birth process.  If only the process went as quickly as the animation!  Wink

  • It's a very informative, yet short piece...  but I really didn't like how the narrator referred to pain through the entire thing!  Maybe I'm a little crazy, but I've been doing a lot of reading about natural childbirth, and have seen multiple videos and documentaries about women who have birthed with no medication, and no pain.  Childbirth has been portrayed as a frightening and excruciating experience...  This is my first child (so go ahead and blast me for being naive if you want...), but while I can understand being scared, I don't understand why it's so hard to believe that childbirth MUST be painful...  I figure, women have done it since the beginning of mankind, so why can't I do it?

    Just my opinion...

But again, the piece was informative, and nicely animated!

I agree on the whole pain thing.  People look at me cross-eyed when I say I am really not worried about the pain or delivering naturally.  Stressing about pain just increases its intensity.  Focusing on relaxation and moving through it is much more beneficial.  I am also a FTM, so maybe I will have shattered delusions, but I have dealt with pain many times before (including an acute gallbladder attack) and in those situations, just staying calm, focusing on breathing through it, and visualizing my body releasing the pain really offered a lot of relief.  I am completely of the mindset of educating myself as to what my body will be going through so I can calm myself and just focus on what my body is trying to do, not focus on whatever pain I might feel.  We are built to do this.  I don't know why people have to try and make it seem so scary.

  • Isn't that so cool? I am really looking forward to the birth experience now that I know a bit more what to expect.  Hoping I have a right side down baby though, I fear that she has her head up at present!
