Hi ladies, I'm almost 5 weeks post op and now that I can see my below my belly button, I noticed stretch marks. I didn't have any through my pregnancy so I thought I dodged them but I think with the c-section, I got them. Any suggestions on what can be done after the fact to help with the marks? Still cocoa butter?
Also, I had a dark linea negra that went from right above pubic bone to my chest and it's still there. Any remedies for that or just a wait it out kinda out thing?
Thanks and I hope you are all healing well.
Re: Stretch Marks & Linea negra
I was surprised by the appearance of stretch marks too. But they had to stretch the skin, etc., to pull the baby out, so it makes sense that there would be some stretch marks. I used Mustela for a while then forgot about it (too busy caring for a baby) but they're starting to lighten anyways.
I never got the linea negra while pregnant but it appeared after my c/s. From other posts I've read, you just have to wait it out. One post I saw said it took a year for it to disappear. It will disappear though.
The linea nigra will fade in time. It may look darker pp than it did during pregnancy because your skin is not stretched out as much. My son is 6 months old and I can still see some of my linea nigra, but it has faded a lot.
I can't see my linea negra at all now, but it was really light to begin with.
Also, nothing really helps stretchmarks but time. Mine are really really light now, and I had horrible ones, my entire belly was purple, they are higher than my belly button, and they appearred very early in my pregnancy, I have lucky genes, lol.
My son will soon be 2 and I still have my stretch marks, they are light though.
My linea negra faded by about 3 months PP, it wasn't too dark to start with.
YES! What's up w/ that?? I never had one while pg, and pp I have a faint linea negra that runs from about 2 inches above my navel to the pubic area, wth?
