So some people do realize what they said was dumb

A woman at work today was asking me how I felt and how everything was going with the pregnancy. I told her it was better and that the morning sickness has finally subsided some.
Then she asked me if it was like this with my first one and I told her this was my first one. She then said she meant the pregnancy I had before when I lost the baby (early mc, blighted ovum and unfortunately I did tell some people at work). I stuttered for a second and just told her no I didn't feel that sick last time and the conversation ended pretty quickly after.
I was a little dumbfounded in the ways some of the people who knew are bringing up the miscarriage (like I don't think about it myself) and as nice as this woman is, it still irked me. Luckily though, I did get a very nice e-mail saying how sorry she was that she said and she should have just left it. So, I guess at least some people do realize what they say to us pregnant women was probably stupid. I'm sure the stupid comments will continue, but this made me feel a little better about it.

That was nice of her to send the e-mail and maybe she didnt mean to catch you off guard or bring up ill feelings. it would make me feel better that she sent the e-mail.
I don't get dumb/weird comments but I do get "Are you coming back after the baby is born?" two women before me have left after they had their first baby from my deoartment so everyone just ASSUMES I'm not coming back. Very annoying.
