I was planning on heading back to the gym this week since I think it would be something good to do as it gets colder out. But I am worried how DS will do going to the Day care in the gym. Did your LO's do okay, or should I wait awhile still before heading back?
TIA!

4 months is a great age. The best thing to do if you have concerns is talk with his pediatrician to ensure that his immune system is doing well. The pediatrician may also ease your mind in letting you know that an hour a day is probably good for both him and you. He gets to interact with other children while you get a badly-needed recharge session.
Some separation anxiety is normal. If it doesn't subside, or if you are too concerned with it, you can always put the gym on hold for a little while and try back in a few weeks. There are great workout programs you can do at home while he's napping - Beachbody and Tracy Anderson both offer amazing DVDs.
I needed to hear this, and will probably read it again tomorrow before we head out to the gym. I do plan on asking my pediatrician at his 4 month appointment on thursday. and I do feel it is extremely beneficial for both of us to have a little "alone time" a few days a week.. thank you again.
I'm planning to bring LO along with me to the gym as soon as I'm up to getting out of the house!!! One gym the owner's policy is bring the LO along with you as soon as you want to come in, they need to be in the "bucket" while out on the main floor, but then once they're able to sit up they can be in the kid's room... Then the other gym that I have a membership to will let LO in their kid's room after the 6wk mark.
At this point it's harder on you than it is on them. There will be a few separation anxiety phases but they're a necessary part of development (they make you feel guilty, but they're off on their own playing w/in 10 minutes)...
SO JEALOUS. My gym wont watch kids until they are 2 years old! I've been having DH watch him and running to the gym. My workouts have been shorter than ever and I feel like I spend as much time driving to and from the gym as I do working out there :-(
Maybe I should join a new gym...
