can I give DD Gat or ade?

I got home from the movie last night, got ready for bed, ready to jump DH for some vampire rewards but check on DD right before to make sure she's fine (like I do everynight). I smelled an odor from her room and went in to change a diaper only realizing she had thrown up in her crib! poor babe!

 This dumb stomach bug has now reached EVERYONE in her daycare (small home daycare) including both teachers.  I was talking to teacher this morning who suggested keeping DD hydrated but said, you can't give her gat or ade though because she's too young. I couldn't ask her for details before her ownd daughter started heaving. 

I already have given her some before to fend off dehydration. AM I not supposed to ? Whats a better alternative?

    I'd give pedialyte before Gatorade, but I've never been told *not* to give it. Poor girl...I hope the bug runs its course quickly!

    Dell gave DD Powerade when she was 14mos. Same thing as Gatorade, really. We use Recharge instead, it's a "natural" version of the same thing and we get it at our HEB Plus but I can't recall if it was near the -ades or the organic juices. I know WF has it too.

    I wouldn't give it all the time, but it's fine.

    Pedialyte tastes like a$$. Mix it with the gatorade for flavor or pick up a "kool-aid" packet or something similiar to sweeten it up and mask the taste of the salt.

    Last time L was sick the pedi said we could give Gatorade...she just said to cut it with water so it wasn't so "sugary".  Hope your daughter feels better soon!
