? about lady parts healing...way TMI!

I'm warning you this is TMI but if you can't ask your fellow bumpies who can you ask? I'll be 4 weeks pp tomorrow (vag delivery) and I feel like something is wrong down there. I was rinsing off my lady parts in the shower yesterday and I noticed something felt funny, so I checked it out with a hand mirror after my shower and got freaked out at what I saw! First of all my stitches from my tear/episiotomy are gone and that part seems to have healed well. However it looks like my vaginal opening has closed up!! I don't know how to explain it, but it's kind of like there's two lumps inside covering up the opening, one on the top half and one on the bottom half. They look like the rest of the pink tissue in there, they just didn't used to be there and I could barely even put a (clean) finger in between. I don't have a hole anymore! What's going on? Any chance this is normal?! Sorry if this is stupid but it's got me pretty freaked out...

  • is it possible you are just swollen and that is why you couldnt get a finger in? I really doubt you closed up! Do you feel ok? Can you flex your kegel muscles?

Hoping for the best for you!

  • I feel ok and I can flex my kegel muscles. Still having some mucus-y discharge and slight soreness but that's about it. Could it still be swelling at 4 weeks? It really just looks like these two lumps closed up the hole haha. Oh man I really hope it gets better... :-/

Im sure it will get better. When do you have your PP checkup? If you are really concerned call your OB and get checked out, for sure, but probably it is still your body reacting to the trauma of pushing out that kid! I still had discharge up until the end of week 4 as well. Now my problem is holding my pee! Good luck.

  • Something similar to this happened to me.  It turned out that there was membrane left in there that was popping out and needed to be removed.  Call your OB.
