For the last 2 feedings DD will not latch on. The 1st time I tried for nearly an hour, figured she was over tired, and pumped and gave her a bottle that she took just fine. The 2nd time, she was totally well rested and calm, but the 2nd she opened her mouth she started screaming. Again I gave her a bottle no problem. It's the same milk, so I don't think I ate something. She hadn't had a bottle in about week before today so I don't think it's a preference for them. She is getting over a cold, but her nose isn't stuffy at all, it's mostly just a cough now. What is her deal?!?
Re: Help, my 7 week old won't nurse...
I'd try switching her positions and I'd also put a call into a LC for help.
good luck.
If she's anything like my girls, she latched on very next fedding with no issues. Anytime I complain about something on boards, it spontanously resolves the problem!
But with a recent cold, she may have gotten an ear infection and the extra sucking power required to nurse may cause her pain. I guess. It's been a long time since I breastfed!
thanks ladies
Oh, anytime I thawed and warmed a bottle of breastmilk to have on hand, my boobs would suddenly pour forth like I hadn't nursed in hours. Then of course, they'd sleep for like 6 hours straight while I considered waking them up so I wouldn't waste the milk I'd already gotten out
I'm glad things are getting better on their own!!
