I don't remember where I read it, but night potty training is completely dependent on bladder development, because some kids just don't wake up to the sensation in time to get to the potty. So I would wager that if the diaper is dry in the morning, maybe switch to underwear with a waterproof barrier on the bed and see how it goes. Worst case - damp kid, wet sheet protector.
Good luck!

I can't recall exactly, but it was a couple months after he was potty trained for daytime. He didn't want to wear pull-ups at night after the first few weeks of day training so I told him if he could keep them dry for a week he could wear regular undies. Took a few weeks, but he did it so we made the switch. Probably about a month after his third birthday and he's only had a couple accidents since.
I also agree with what pp said. M has always been a light sleeper and so has no problem waking himself up when he has to go.
