Gah! And here I thought the holidays would be easier this year! (VENT)

So the holidays around here are usually pretty crazy. We spend the Thanksgiving weekend either with my dad's family in SoCal or with DH's family either in SoCal or in Gilroy. Then for Christmas, we had to balance Christmas Eve and Day with my in-laws, my mom and her boyfriend and my dad and step-mom and their family.

This year, is DH's family's turn for Thanksgiving. Then for Christmas we are doing a Christmas dinner at home on Christmas Eve, Christmas morning at home and Christmas Day dinner at my dad's. Everything seemed pretty pat and planned. 

Then my mom sends me an email asking if it would be ok to come visit Thanksgiving weekend. I said, well, we are planning to be with DH"s family all Thanksgiving weekend, but the following weekend, we are going to be free (except for a few hours when we have our birthing class).  So then she sends me an email back saying "So, is it ok if we come up the Friday after Thanksgiving to visit for the weekend?"

DID YOU NOT READ MY EMAIL????

I know she has been gone for several months (she and her boyfriend went to see his family in Switzerland from August through the beginning of November), so she has not seen me (outside of skype) for a while. But we can't just drop plans we have already made, either!

    Drama drama drama.... Not my favorite part of the holidays. Just remind her u have plans and reinvite her over for the following weekend.

    Maybe she just misread/misunderstood your email and thought you meant the weekend right after thanksgiving. Give her some calendar dates to avoid the confusion :-)
