Yeast Infection

So this may get a little personal and TMI but I need some advice. During my first Trimester I got a sinus infection and took some antibiotics that resulted in a mild yeast infection.   I treated it with some Monistat and I think it went away. I was warned about how persistent a pregnancy yeast infection. 

 Since then I have had some discharge and vaginal swelling.  The occasional tenderness and itching but I just assumed it was all pregnancy related. The biggest problem is that when I am intimate with my DH it is painful. Once again I thought it was a symptom that would pass. It has been a few months and nothing has gotten.  

We were intimate on our anniversary this week and my outer parts are swollen, tender and itch like crazy. I have a Doctor appt in a little over a week. I am thinking about getting another dose of Monistat and trying that before my appt. the swelling g and discomfort during intercourse bother me the most. Any advice?

    I don't have much advice but can commiserate. I feel your pain! I had two UTIs in the first tri and the antibiotics gave me yeast infections. Things haven't been the same down south since. I'd try the monistat. The cold plain yogurt trick was the only thing that gaveme relief...I might never eat yogurt again however. But it definitely  takes away the uncomfort. Hope you are feeling better soon!

    sounds like a yeast infection to me. i had the same thing, but i took meds that my dr prescribed to get rid of it she didn't want me to take Monistat. I'd ask your dr. good luck and i hope you feel better soon. it is def. no fun having one i've hated having my yeast infection.

    Acidophilus! I had a raging yeast infection for like 8 weeks when I first found out I was ku and nearly scratched my vag off b/c monistat wasn't working. Someone on here (LOVE THEM) suggested it and I took it orally and smashed up a pill and made a paste and applied it and it worked great.
