I saw that you took DS to his first dental appointment and it went pretty well. I am thinking of making an appointment for my DS and wondering what I should expect. We have been brushing his teeth and "counting" them to prepare him for the dentist. He hates going to the doctor's office (like most kiddies), but I'm hoping he'll like going to the dentist. TIA!

Yeah, I was in a total panic about him freaking out like he does at the doctor. Luckily he only freaked out when the hygienist came to see ME(the whole fam went for a check up and cleaning), but his exam went fine. No screaming or tears and it only lasted long enough for the dentist to take a look to see if there were any obvious problems.
They said the goal is to eventually work up to him allowing them to clean his teeth and, if we allowed it(we won't), x-rays.

On a side note- wanna hear a story that'll really freak you out? I didn't know I was pregnant until about 6 weeks in, and I had a full set of dental x-rays done when I was about 4 weeks pregnant- yikes! Luckily, all turned out fine! When I went back for a cleaning 6 months later (and very obviously pregnant), the hygienist almost had a heart attack!
