I cant wait to have sweet potatoes, I love them!! My sis is doing the turkey and we are all doing side dishes. Im bringing a brocolli salad, and rolls.
Since I had the baby, people go easy on me for holidays. I bet next year they will start asking me to bring more. lol

It's just the 3 of us this year, but we're doing: turkey, mac and cheese, rolls, stuffing, and corn pudding. I want key lime pie for dessert, but the hubs won't eat that so... I don't know yet. Maybe chocolate pie?
I don't care about half of it because my cravings are so specific, but I'm being a good wifey and cooking the whole shebang.

We are going to my In Laws. My MIL is an amazing cook, so I basically fantasize all year about Thanksgiving...mmmm.. I can't wait to eat her dressing/stuffing and also her sweet potatoes..she puts brown sugar and pecans on them..I could cry thinking about them..so good. We are bringing rolls this year. I birthed the only grandson to carry on the family name, so they are now building me my own shrine.. Bahaha! That or they just want to take the pressure off this year...
I am looking forward to everything! Last year there wasn't much room left inside me to eat too much!! We're having my family at our house and H "says" he is doing all the cooking. So, I guess I'm just the assistant, fine by me!
I am so excited for Thanksgiving!!! We will be going to my Mom's house this year. We are bringing some puppy chow (as requested) green bean casserole and a honey baked ham.

Stuffing. I looooove buttery bready things. I just use the Pepperidge Farm seasoned bread crumbs and follow the standard recipe with celery and onion. It is such comfort food to me though.
I'm in charge of a boring green salad, stuffing (out of the box), bought frozen green bean almondine (Green Giant), and I'll make a homemade pumpkin pie for the first time. Oh, and Pillsbury rolls.
Since my cooking skills mostly suck, I never am required to get/do anything of importance (turkey, sweet potatoes, mashed potatoes, ham). Fine by me.
We are going to my mom's mom's house and this year starts the rotation - next year we'll have it with my in-law's.
Well, with plans being rearranged and then back to the original plan, and last year I made 2 pies because BIL asked us to bring some, and it didn't get touched, so I'm not taking anything. We'll be doing Thanksgiving at our house next year, kind of tired of everyone else's plans being more important?..
As for food I'm looking forward to, the asparagus and mushroom au gratin!

I'm in charge of desserts. I'm making apple pie, pecan pie, spritz cookies (plain, chocolate dipped, orange glaze or orange & chocolate) and THESE
(omg these) Sweet potato cupcakes with burned marshmallow frosting. And also homemade whipped cream.
What.
You drive me insane Broc. Seriously. Cut it out.
If it helps, I'm bummed because I was planning on making this again, and my MIL is all frazzled and was like JUST DO DESSERTS AND SHUT UP.
It's a cauliflower gratin. It basically tastes like the best mac & cheese ever, only you can pretend it's healthy because it's cauliflower.

Haha, yes, I meant "what's in it?"
Broccoli Salad:
1/4 cup red onion finely chopped
1 large bunch of broccoli
1/2 cup of dried cranberries
2/3 cup of sunflower seeds
1 lb a cripsy crumbled bacon.
Dressing is 1 c of mayo, 1/2 c of sugar, 1 1/2 t vinegar.
Clean and chop off flower of broccoli into small pieces. Add ingredients to broc, then mix in dressing. Refridgerate until chilled.
with all the broccoli I'm getting confused, heh.
