thanks again, y'all, for thoughts and prayers.
so, all it took was some new meds to get his heart beating w/ a normal rhythm (which, btw, just blows my mind). the cardiologist said, on a scale of 0-10, that he was at about a 2 in terms of severity of the situation.
he is in the process of being released from the hospital right now and the drs told him to just resume life as usual, which means he'll be on the golf course tomorrow by 7am.
Re: (last) update on my dad-
Awesome! Can't help but love modern medicine sometimes
I'm guessing you'll have a nice relaxed visit with your mom now
When 3 Became 4
I'm glad he responded so well to the meds, that's awesome! I'm guessing A-Fib? If so, let me know so I can give some specific pointers in case they weren't gone over in detail in his discharge instructions. It carries a risk of stroke (7x the general population) but the easiest way to avoid that is to get out of A-Fib as soon as possible after you recognize you're IN it.
Unfortunately, over time, your body gets used to the feeling you're not as likely to feel flutters, chest pain or "feeling funny". Kind of how like in the 2nd trimester, you get used to the baby moving all the time and you don't feel it unless you sit down and concentrate on it.
