Follistim side effects?

I did my second shot last night, and immediately felt like crap. Woke up this morning feeling the same: achey all over, headache, nauseous, chills, tired. Feels like I have a mild flu and want to barf at the same time.

I read that these can all be side effects of Follistim. Anyone else have these? How long did it last?

When I did my first cycle of Clomid I had terrible cramps, hot flashes and night sweats. By the 3rd cycle, just moodiness.

I'm not working right now, so at least I can gripe and watch movies in bed.

Me = 38, Husband = 31. TTC since 1/10. M/C at 8 wks 5/10. Started trying again 9/10. All tests normal: AMH/MIS, FSH, HSG, SA. Estradoil high. 6/20/11 - Clomid+Ovidrel+IUI#1=BFN. 7/17/11 - Clomid+IUI#2=BFN. 2 natural cycles = BFN. 10/6/11 - Clomid+Ovidrel+IUI#3=BFN. 10/31/11 - Clomid+Ovidrel+IUI#4 = BFN. 11/26/11 - Follistim+Ovidrel+IUI#5 = BFN. IVF#1 - Menopur+Follistim. 2 ET 5/11/12 = BFN.

    Not having the same effects (yet) on Gonal-F (which I think is the same thing) but I wanted to say I'm sorry you're not feeling well.  I hope the sickness is short-lived and I hope it's a bug, not side effects, so you don't have to deal with it again. 

    Have you called your doc to see if she thinks you should continue taking the Follistim?  She (or your nurse) might have some guidance for you.

    I did not have any of those side effects with Follistim and I was taking 450 iu every night. Hope you feel better.
    M-43 DOR (FSH 20 AMH 0.16, AFC 4-6) Endo stage III DH-42 (low everything)
    TTC #1 unofficially since 6/09, officially since 10/10
    6/11 RE testing,rt tube blocked with hydro, 8/11 lap surgery rt tl
    IVF#1 10/11 Estrace,450 Follistim, 15 units low-dose HCG, DHEA - cancelled (only follie growing)
    IVF#2 started stims 11/4/11 - same protocol, increase in concentration of HCG, added CoQ10, no response, cancelled on CD 12
    12/2/11 began accupuncture; Break in Dec. Next cycle anticipated in Jan.

    Thanks! I'm going to wait and see how I feel tomorrow. If it doesn't go away by then, I'll call the nurse. I feel ok if I rest. Maybe I just need to adjust to it for another day.

    Now I think I have the flu. Achey from head to toe. It can't be the drugs.

    Damnit, leave it to me to get sick right before Thanksgiving AND an IUI. Going to drown myself in vitamins and juice.

    Sorry to hear you're still not feeling well.  I hope it's just a 24-hour bug.
