So, we normally use Pamper Swaddlers.... however, he was starting to pee through those during the night... so, we tried Pampers Baby Dry (friend told me that the Pampers Overnights did not work for them)... but Baby Drys are unsuccessful as well. I was looking at Huggies Overnites, but the reviews weren't great.
Anyone have a good successful overnight diaper? ![]()
Re: Best overnight diaper?
Maybe it's time to size up?
We use cloth, but when we did use disposables, I noticed that when DD was falling into 2 size ranges, when you go to the next size up and the diaper seems too big, that you have less leak issues overnight.
Josie is also 19 lbs and we put a 4 on her to sleep. We just overlap the tabs.

Ohhhhh... and that seems to work much better than an "overnight diaper"? Just a normal swaddler size 4?
Also, the weight estimates on the diaper sizes are just that - estimates. The size 4 pampers go up to 37 pounds, and DD weighs 28, but she is going into size 5s the next time I order diapers, which will be in the next few days, because her 4s have been leaking more often and I consider that the telltale sign that its time to go up a size. Plus she's been in 4s since her bday, so its been quite a while.
I don't think she stayed in any size diaper until she reached the weight limit. We have always used pampers, so maybe just trying different brands would work until you find what works for your kid.
We haven't had a need for "overnight" diapers but she definitely soaks a size 3, the bigger the size the more absorbent.

Keep in mind that at daycare they legally should be changing his diaper every 2 hours (or when it is "soiled.) I believe that is the state law.
Oh, they do! Diapering during the day is not an issue... I just have daycare using the ending supply of my size 2 diapers. My issue is trying to keep LO's PJs a little dryer
I'd go up another size too.
You could also try 2 diapers - one on the front, one on the back.
You could also buy a diaper cover. (We use cloth at night, but I have occasionally used them over a sposie too). I bought them from a local WAHM. If you pick up from her then you don't have to pay shipping. (She lives near Arundel Mills Mall).
I also added the extra protection to the fleece soaker for a little extra umpf.
Going up a size helps us. However, now that she's off the bottle, she's urinating A LOT less. Weezie, i bet once you remove that nighttime bottle you'll notice a difference.
We use size 6 pampers babydry.

For the first 6 months or so we used nothing but Pampers Swaddlers, Huggies never worked for us. We cloth diaper during the day, but at night we use disposables. I find one of the best disposable diapers to be Target's Up & Up brand. We love them...cheaper than any sposie out there. DS pees a tremendous amount during the night (he sleeps through the night too, 11-12 hrs) and we have never had a leak. I am seriously impressed some mornings with the amount of urine in the diaper...the diaper feels like it weighs a ton. Size 3s should work for you for now...size 4s in a month or so.
Have you ever tried a SuperDo insert? I use those at night time w/my heavy wetter and we typically don't have any problems. (I am just suggesting since you already use CD).
It never bothered me that the ON diapers were more expensive, since DD is only using one a night. The box lasts a LONG time. The current box I have will last me through the end of the year.
No, we haven't tried an insert. We have thought about/investigated wool and hemp, but haven't decided to use either. I will check out the SuperDo though. Thanks!
