I need to get a couple of nice outfits for DS for the holidays. It seems like the only options out there are argyle sweaters or vests & ties. Don't get me wrong, I like the argyle sweater and ties (without the vest), but is there anything else?
I got A a RL reindeer sweater when it was on sale last year but doesn't look like they're doing one for boys this year. We're also a big fan of party pants in our house, and my mom got A a longall from Jolly Rompers.
Love jon-jons! So easy to put a turtleneck under. My mom is making 2 for Finn - one with a Santa face and one with a reindeer.
Finn will also have a smocked one piece outfit.
I was in Gymboree this morning and they have some new Christmas stuff in. There's a really cute snowman sweater that I will probably buy for next year once it goes on sale.

I'm so jealous that your mom can make them!
It's so great! She sewed for my sister and me growing up and smocked a lot too. She doesn't have time to do the smocking anymore, so one of her friend's makes Finn's outfits. She can whip out an appliqued jon-jon in no time though!
She just made him one with a turkey on it for Thanksgiving.
Target has some pullover sweaters--C has a grey moose with snowflakes sweater that he'll wear with jeans for Santa, then black cords for the Christmas eve dinner.

I am doing the Janie and Jack grey flannel plaid pants with a nice white button down shirt. I just did an argyle sweater with skulls on it from the Gap in greys and reds for his photos. So cute.

Last year I got my son an outfit from Osh Kosh. This year I ordered one from Carters. It's got a plaid shirt, cords and a zip up sweater with a reindeer on it.
Jack Emmett born on 2/2/10 after 17 cycles and a miscarriage
Calvin Wyatt born on 1/10/12. Our surprise baby!
I got the cutest dang outfit at Children's Place. Its a red & navy striped button up shirt w/ a Christmas tree tie, navy corduroy pants, and a navy corduroy news boy hat.
This year, DS & DD are going to be in the matching Janie & Jack reindeer sweaters with plain white shirts under. In the past, I've dressed DS in a plain red Baby Gap sweater, a Polo teddy bear sweater. I never liked the sweater vest look so I know how you feel about looking for an alternative.

I think their cute, but DH is opposed

I just bought a red pullover 1/4 zip sweater from Children's Place. It's like this one, but just plain red, not argyle obviously, lol

I bought some dark denim jeans to go with it and a white turtleneck to wear underneath.
