So I thought you guys would be my best source of information when asking about my next steps. Back story, DH & I have been TTC #2 since this past March, with no luck. I did have what was believed a very early miscarriage in June/July which resulted in my progesterone being checked, it was normal. While I know it may take up to a year for a normal healthy couple, I am about ready to start my 10th cycle so I am getting close.
So here I am asking, "if you knew then what you know now" what would be your first steps? Do I contact my gyno or schedule a consultation with an RE? What are your thoughts?
More information;
I have pretty regular cycles - 28 days
I am turning 32 on Sunday
I have temped/charted/opk'd just not this current cycle
We didn't have any issues conceiving DD#1 back in 2008
Any advice would be great. I just don't feel like anyone around me understands, it's pretty isolating
Re: Advice on where to start...
I'm sorry for your loss. As you said yourself, it can take a healthy couple up to a year to conceive (you'd only want to wait 6 months if you were 35+).
I'd give it a full year before moving on to treatment since you have no pre-existing issues and you had no issues conceiving your DD.
If March rolls around and you're still not PG, I would consult directly with a RE instead of an OB/GYN. GL!

Im just starting as well, and was wondering the same thing. I spoke to a RE office on the phone, and they said to my gyno first (if nothing else, to create a paper-trail which might be useful for insurance purposes later on). I then spoke to my gyno and asked her....she said the first steps (Clomid, for me) would be with her, and that the RE wasn't necessary yet. I do plan on seeing her in a few weeks but if it doesnt seem like she will be doing sufficient testing/monitoring, I will just call the RE again and make an appt there.
