Upstate NY Babies

Thankful Thursday

I have a lot to be thankful for this week.

Our furnace broke a week and a half ago, which means no heat or hot water.  I am so thankful DH took all those weekend to cut wood for our wood stove so now we have had at least a little bit of heat.  I'm thankful the weather hasn't been bitterly cold so our house hasn't been too bad w/o the furnace.  I'm thankful for DHs coworker who suggested he turn it in to insurance (the furnace caught on fire) and now insurance is covering 100% of the cost and we only have to pay our deductible.  I am thankful for the ILs who have let us come over and shower and give the girls a bath

  • I am thankful for my DH. I am trying to save all my leave until the new baby gets here so he has stayed home with DD three days this week and has been the main person for barf duty. I am so happy he helps with sick days and comforting. I think I will tell him again today.

  • I'm thankful for our home. As small and messy as it may seem some days, I really do love it. I moved in, kind of assuming it would just be a starter house but I can't ever see moving. I hope we're here forever. I'm in the process of making over the basement into a playroom and I'm loving it!

  • I am thankful for the wonderful company I work for and the wonderful people I work with. I am glad to have a job I am happy with. I am thankful for my wonderful DH who has been taking such good care of me and making dinner the past few days. I am thankful for a healthy and uneventful pregnancy thusfar and for my wonderful daughter.

  • DH works for a company that was recently purchased by another company (if you're in Roc you've probably seen it on the news a lot.) We were terrified that he would be laid off, because it would happen right around the time DD2 is born, but he heard from his boss' boss that the new company intends on keeping his whole department. So for that, I am so very thankful!
  • I am thankful for my positive dh.  As sucky as things are he is still upbeat most days. I am thankful he is such a wonderful dad and has so much patience with the kids.

I am thankful for my job.  I really do enjoy it which makes it nice to go to work.  i am thankful for my parents, that Sophia is such an easy baby, Ethan's speech is improving and for my great friends up here who make me feel like I am a normal mom.

  • I am thankful for DH and how hard he works for us. Even though he has to travel a lot for work and is gone for weeks at a time, I'm thankful he has such a good job that allows me to stay home part time with my girl.

What a great attitude. I would have written just the first sentence in yesterday's post.

I am so thankful that everything it looking good with baby2.  I love the stage that dd is in and she is so much fun.  She amazes me with how big she is getting and the things she says.  I'm thankful dh is home with her so much and is such a great father.

DH also works for a company that is in the process of being bought out.  The new company has made it pretty clear that they will be outsourcing DH's department.  It sucks, but I'm thankful that they've given us advanced notice...because they didn't have to.  I'm also thankful that DH is getting calls for interviews.  He has a second interview in 45minutes and I'm hoping that next week I'll be able to be thanksful for a new job.  (Fingers crossed!!!)

  • I'm thankful that I grew up with some really special people whom to this day are some of my dearest friends; even when we don't talk for ages.

  • I'm thankful for a few vacation days! I am off today-monday... woo hoo! DH is off too, so I'm looking forward to some family time.

I am also thankful for DH. He got up this morning and helped me clean the entire house, top to bottom. He vacuumed (the chore I hate the most), changed the litter box (the chore I hate the most next to vacuuming!) dusted and cleaned the guest room (since his brother will be staying w/ us tonight and tomorrow) He also reorganized all of Evan's toys, so our living room actually looks like a living room and not a play room!

Now I'm thankful for a spotless house so I don't have to worry about it all weekend!

  • I am thankful that R was so easy to teach to use the potty! I am stunned by how fast he picked it up, after 1 week he started telling me when he had to go. He even just goes on his own, just needs a little help getting his undies back up over his tush! haha

This boy has been such an easy kid, we are so blessed.....and we are in so much trouble if we ever have #2!

  • I'm thankful for DH. We had a talk a few months ago about me needing to get out of the house on my own more often. I haven't gone out too much but he is so supportive when I do. No hesitation when I ask if a certain night is ok, just tells me to have fun and asks how much money I need! lol This week I went to trivia with a friend last night, I'll be getting my hair done and having dinner with my cousin tonight, and Saturday I'll be going out with some sorority sisters I haven't seen in years. Normally I would never be out this much! But he was so amazing about it, just said I deserve it and that he and the girls will be fine. Love that man!
