DH and I are trying TTC #1. If all goes well this month, we'll find out at the beginning of December and plan to tell our families at Christmas. (I know it's recommended to wait until the 12 week point, but Christmas would be just too perfect.) Thinking about made me wonder if you've heard any good Christmas names for babies. I know a lot of people use Noel and Holly, but what else?
We don't plan on naming our future baby after anything Christmas, I'm just curious.
Re: Christmas Names
Nicholas
Christopher
Rudolph
Mary
Joseph
Jesus (Hey-sues)
Christine, Christina
Felicity
Winter, Gabriel, Carol, Emmanuel, Joy, Eve, Robin, Angel, Belle, Gloria, Hope
Most of these are pretty yucky to me.
I know three people born on Christmas: Holly, Nick and Heidi (Jewish, so a non-Christmas name!).
Natasha/Natalia/Natalie
Nicholas
Nichola
Christmas (Chrissy's real name in Three's Company)
Bianca (means white in Italian, like snow)
mm 2/17/11 * dd born 4/20/12 * bo 1/3/14 * edd 1/21/ 1/15
I think Holly is beautiful. LOL at naming a kid Rudolph.
You can still be mayor if you're named Rudolph as in Rudolph "Rudy" Giuliani.
From my understanding, Kristen means "follower of Christ" so that's pretty Christmas-related IMO.
Drummer, Shepherd, Nestor, Buddy, CIndylou, Juniper, Bailey and Zuzu!
Edit: Forgot Stella or Estelle.
Estrella (Es-TRAY-ah). Spanish for star.
Gabriel
Nuria (NOO-ria) Meaning: bright, shining light
Clara - from The Nutcracker
Emmanuel/Emmanuela
BFP 3/28/16 (EDD 12/9/16) * Chemical pregnancy
ME: 40 yrs.old
DH: 41 yrs.old
DD: 5 yrs.
I had liked Jonah for our Christmas baby which I believe has a meaning of "peace."
Just a warning about announcing at Christmas....despite my parents warning to us, we told all extended family Christmas Eve and DH's Christmas Day with grandma ornaments, video recordings of the announcement, etc. I was pregnant two Christmas times in a row followed by two early losses in late January. It made the subsuquent Christmas times EXTREMELY emotionally difficult. I didn't listen to my parents and you don't have to listen to me at all, but if your family has any history of loss, it might be best to wait. I agree the timing is perfect because family is together but being at the following Christmas without any baby was so tremendously hard. I hope that all goes well from you and you are able to find some fun names
I love Joy
Yul (as in Yul Brynner and Yultide).
Ivy
....AND JESUS! (He is after all the reason for the season, or so I am told.)
Edited: Because I'm an idiot and misspelled Brynner.
My name is Holly and I love it. Always have. It's cute for a little girl, professional for an adult and I suspect cute for when I'm an old lady. LOVE.
p.s. I was born in May.
We thought DS would be born closer to Christmas, so we chose Nicholas. If we'd had a girl, we toyed with the idea of the mn being "Noelle" for Christmas.
I also like Belle (as in Silver Bell)
That must have been so hard for you. I'm so sorry you had to endure that. I guess I thought about the consequences, but not in real terms. Does that make sense? Definitely something to consider. Thanks for sharing. I know how hard it much be.
