Is there anyone else who hasn't had their shower yet? Mine's not til December 4th. I wanted to wait until after Thanksgiving and have something to look forward to getting close to the end of this pregnancy. Our nursery is already done and we don't really need much left so it's just going to be fun bonus stuff now. Getting excited!

Where I'm from (a small town in Saskatchewan, Canada) it's pretty rare to hear of a baby shower happening before the baby is born. Everyone wants to see the baby and shower it with gifts. My shower is going to wait until after the baby is born for tradition and the fact that many people that want to see the baby, WILL be able to see it without coming to my house and disrupting naps.
I can understand why many people would want one before the baby is born, but it's just not what i would personally do.
Dec. 4th also. I think the timing is perfect! Nursery just came together last weekend. It is sparce and waiting for the details.

I had my first shower on Sunday and was a little disappointed that more of my friends didn't attend (out of 30+ invitations there were only 9 guests who showed even though more RSVPed).
I'm having another shower on Jan 7th or 8th for family and family friends who have known me for years or since I was very little. A couple of my friends may come to that shower as well.
I'll admit I'm a little jealous that your nursery is done. Ours hasn't even been started yet and I'm getting a little stressed.
Are you kidding? i am having mine december 18th, and am due jan 6th. Cutting it a bit close.. Besides it being an unusual situation.
Due to the amount of 'what if's' that could happen with adoption in general, my friends/family are throwing me a Meet The Baby Shower after we get home with the baby.
And if you're from the South...I believe it's referred to as a Sip 'N See.
December 18th!
I am sure I will have a work one as well I just have no clue when.

My shower is this Sunday - I figured the weekend before Thanksgiving and also before the holidays so that everyone could *budget* for our gifts!
So it's this Sunday - friends and family are coming, about 30 total. My aunt is hosting the shower at this awesome art gallery in town. I can't wait!
Since my hubby doesn't have any family in town so I'm having my dad & two brothers come over to our house while we're at the shower to help him set up the nursery & move furniture! It's a surprise...so we'll see how that goes!
Me too! Our parents have purchased the nursery furniture but we have been waiting until after the shower to shop for everything else so I'm glad it's happening soon so I can get all the prep out the way before it starts getting to be really bad weather here!

I definitely am in the minority here but I also am not having my shower until after the baby is born...I always thought this was the traditional way but after doing some research apparently it's not. From where I live it is fairly common to do it afterwards.
I have already purchased most of my larger necessities anyways...so it will be more for the social aspect and then everyone can meet the baby
